Or is the Daily Mail front web page getting worse?

I read the Daily Mail because it's a good gauge for the political development (at least with the Tories) in Britain but I find myself almost incapable of even opening the front web page now. They were bad but bearable before but right know it's like watching a rabid spitting cobra on speed.
The amount of xenophobia, prejudice and scaremongering more than doubled in the previous week and you can almost see poison dripping from the screen. At this pace they could be BNP's posher version any time soon.

Clandestino don't complain about it getting worse you have a choice not to read it.

I'm not complaining. I'm stating it.

Today's DM online page is one of the most inflammatory and vile I've ever seen in a newspaper. No chance of getting a balanced and informed view from this dross they are only interested in feeding their readers appetite. And if you want to see what type reads this just look at their comments sections.

The headlines and articles are hugely misleading and verging on hysterical. It's getting worse, a complete lack of journalistic integrity

Yep, you're definitely reading the Daily Mail there - no doubt about it.

The question is WHY?

The question is WHY?

Because if we close our eyes it doesn't make the monster go away.

This particular monster has been around since 1896.

It's the UK's second biggest-selling newspaper.

They can legally print what they are printing.

It's not going anywhere.

I choose not to read a xenophobic, misogynist right wing publication I don't have to read it to know what issues it's reporting. I'm certainly not missing out.

Is there any particular reason to repeat what I have already said or are you doing it for fun?

Confused

Err, I don't get what's going on with the whole childish repeating nonsense.

But I do agree with you OP, I think the little restraint the DM had has been shed as their right wing views are being increasingly echoed by society.

We live in disturbing times. The progress that we have made in human rights, opportunities for all, and tolerance towards the 'other' is all being eroded. And many people embrace the personal advantage this gives them. Sad, sad, times.

Was your first sentence (I daren't quote it now Smile ) referring to my use of quotes? Which the OP has also used in replying to others and yet seems not to understand I too use quotes because it helps any confusion?

I do not know how many people will reply in between the OP's reply to me and my reply to them. I thought quotes helped with that?

I see many threads that get out of hand because someone has misunderstood and a direct quote may have helped.

Ironically, my attempt to keep things straight and clear seems to have backfired spectacularly here Sad
