I've had over £500 stolen via Deliveroo

Checked my bank account on Wednesday to see 4 or 5 transactions to deliveroo for large amounts in last few days. I have not made these orders and can see someone has assumingly hacked my deliveroo account and have made various orders for grey goose vodka (and other things )in shops in London. I don't live in london! They have altered my first name on my account and slightly altered my email address. I called deliveroo upon noticing straight away. The customer advisor was very nice and told me not to worry the money would be refunded and someone senior would call me. So far I've had neither a call or refund and we're getting on for 48hrs now.
This has caused me financial hardship as big amount.

Has anyone else had this happen in the last few days?

I'm with NatWest and my account was hacked last weekend - about £750 quids worth of payments Shock

I called the bank who put me through to
The fraud team and they refunded my money by 10am the next day

i wish mine would be refubned by 10am tommorrow nokishere!
natwest seem to have taken issue with the fact i approached Deliveroo beofr asking them and that I have a relationship with deliveroo as have ordered before!!!

Natwest is in the wrong here. All direct debits, visa debit, and credit card transactions have to be immediately refunded by the bank while they investigate. It's not an option. It's a banking regulation. Post about it on Twitter, you will def get compensation.

OP, I'm sorry this has happened to you. It's bloody stressful and awful. I hope that money is refunded very soon. Flowers

I get angsty about this kind of thing and, having signed up to order one Deliveroo meal a few weeks ago, I've decided to try to delete all my details from that app now and not trust it again. But there doesn't seem to be any way to delete an account on Deliveroo. Am I missing something obvious? Has anyone else been spooked by OP's tale and managed to delete their accounts?

Bat west are rubbish. Now at first direct they are really good. They rang me and stopped my card the other day as their systems detected someone using it in America whilst I was shopping in lidl in England. New card was with me the next day. Best bank I've ever had by far.

This might be useful for none using card details online. I only use my Amex online; I have it linked to my iPad and every time a transaction is made a message comes up on my iPad. I set it up by accident but it is great.

firtlebunny · 05/11/2016 09:29

Slightly surprised noone has pointed out that Deliveroo here has clearly failed adequately to protect OP's personal information and as such is clearly in breach of the Data Protction Acts. As such I'd be making a formal complaint to the Information Commissioner.

Has anyone tweeted a link to this post to Deliveroo and NatWest customer services? They should really see it as a kick up the arse.

I think the answer to that is advertising something!
