To ask how on earth do you store this type of toy?

I have a few. All the little pieces come off if I put it up like a book on a shelf (obviously!). Of course I can lay them flat, however I'm happy to hear any clever solutions!

Lay them flat on inaccessible shelf so you don't spend half your life finding the pieces all over the flat......or is that just me?

BigPointyStick · 02/11/2016 22:00

Clingfilm the bastard.

Bluebolt · 02/11/2016 22:02

I have a disabled child so have loads I use clear document wallets, the same for jigsaws.

nut3lla · 02/11/2016 22:02

Yep cling film it! Grin

MrsNuckyThompson · 02/11/2016 22:02

I keep the pieces in a clear plastic food bag and the board flat. We have a of of pieces kept together in a box and boards are stored separately.

PandasRock · 02/11/2016 22:03

Flat on a shelf, and in document wallets for the inevitable time your child pulls out one from the middle of the stack, causing peg puzzle chaos as all the others come raining down too...

WhirlwindHugs · 02/11/2016 22:03

I used to stack them on top of each other flat.

moobeana · 02/11/2016 22:04

Tuffbags.
They are tough plastic wallets which don't rip and break. I put the jigsaw in and then zip it up. I add ribbon to the zip to make it easier for my 18 month old to open.

GlitteryFluff · 02/11/2016 22:04

Watching
At the mo ours are in a box.
Everything is messed up so you can never find the pieces you want. You have to practically do all the puzzles at the same time to try to get all the pieces.

moobeana · 02/11/2016 22:04

Amazon sell them!

Sax88 · 02/11/2016 22:05

Sticky velcro patches holding them in.

PandasRock · 02/11/2016 22:06

X-post, bluebolt Grin

I have a disabled child too and have many, many peg puzzles.

strandedabroad · 02/11/2016 22:08

Ooh moo, thanks, I'd just gone onto Amazon myself. So you actually want your toddler to get into them?! Grin

NapQueen · 02/11/2016 22:11

Ours go in a trofast drawer. All the loose pieces in the bottom to all of them then the flat boards on top.

We fit about 5 into a shallow trofast drawer.

Crunchymum · 02/11/2016 22:11

Ours are in a drawer glittery but we have the same issue.

Kids want to do a puzzle but end up having to do 10 puzzles. Keeps them occupied. I love my puzzle drawer Grin

DinosaursRoar · 02/11/2016 22:12

I have always just used document wallets - this sort of thing - you can normally pick them up in pound shops/post offices/WH Smiths etc.

GlitteryFluff · 02/11/2016 22:14

Love the Velcro dot idea.
Where can one purchase a tonne of them for a relatively cheap price?

bonzo77 · 02/11/2016 22:15

In the bin. I keep them in the bin. Forever. Stupid bastard things.

Backingvocals · 02/11/2016 22:34

Yep bin. Along with those dreadful jigsaws in books. Hate those bastards.

We use clear document wallets

Cakescakescakes · 02/11/2016 23:29

I buy a metre of Velcro on eBay for about 1.50 inc postage and just snip it into pieces. Have seen the actual Velcro dots in Tesco before too but much pricier.

moobeana · 03/11/2016 07:23

Yeah! It's a pretty good introduction to zips actually! I tried using the normal document wallets but they ripped / split etc and the zips often came off. I have just dug these out if our loft for DD2 and they are all still in one piece, working perfectly.

HeyOverHere · 03/11/2016 16:40

A large ziplock, a small tote, or a short, flat plastic box with a latch-on lid.

YelloDraw · 03/11/2016 17:24

In a bag
