I felt a bit bored, a week of nothingness ( except for two maybe three days) then nothing amazing... Don't know why I keep thinking every school hols are going to be different Yeahh! then...well... they are not ( I have to say the only ones I like are the summer holidays but that's it).
Is just me experiencing this? Plus I don't want to answer the question on Mon at the school playground about what we did/ didn't, etc!!

As a teacher, it has been lovely but felt far too short! Spent Saturday-Tuesday in London, Wednesday I went into school to get some work done and ran errands and then Thursday-Sunday I've been visiting my parents. Currently about to eat a huge Sunday roast then drive the 2 hours home to actually do some work ready to go back tomorrow!

NipSlipper · 30/10/2016 13:47

It was boring, but I needed a quiet, dull week indoors to be honest. I was knackered!

I did quite a lot of housework that needed doing, on the bright side. And the DC had a few good, active days out with friends and family.

My DS has been handwork though (autism, challenging behaviour) and I have PMT from hell, so still feel a bit exhausted and dreading return to work tomorrow.

crossroads3 Flowers hope you find some happiness again soon

Thank you Notso Smile.

We've had a good one too - I booked some activities in advance so we had things to look forward to and have done some different ones as well as the usual Halloween trails.

My DD is off tomorrow as well, so I suspect we'll be in full-on Halloween mode tomorrow Halloween Grin

*wasn't long enough for me!

Always amuses me how parents dis schools and then whinge about having to spend time with their DC. Cue sooo many threads over the summer hols about how parents can't wait for school to start again and how bored they are.

it always makes me feel sad when on a parenting website, parents talk about how bored they are having to spend time with their kids.*

Do you work? Are school holidays the only time you can spend with the DC's? Also, how old are your DC's?
This comment has wound me up to be honest!

Mine Are off for 2 weeks.
We have had a fantastic 1st week.
Went to see Nickleback in concert who were fecking amazeballs.
Then a week in gorgeously beautiful Wales in our wee caravan, had a ball!!
2nd week I'm at work, dh & kids are busy decorating.
All in all, brill half term.

throwingpebbles · 30/10/2016 15:32

Pretty much awful Sad my kids were with their dad the whole week, I only had them for the first weekend. I keep busy working, going out, hanging out with my
Step kids etc but it's just way too long (they are infant school age) and I miss them heaps, it's like two heavy stones in my heart till they get back. Roll on Christmas and Feb half term so we can hang out lots!

PassMeTheChocolate · 30/10/2016 15:35

Ours broke up on Friday for a week so we've only just started.

We have managed to at least get them both to make a start on their homework so it isn't all left to last minute (!). I am working as usual all week but my husband is taking a couple of days off for a change, so possibly a few trips to the park are on the cards for them, I might take them to the cinema, sadly can't afford to do much else, and my son is at that age when he doesn't really want to be bothered, he'll probably just be happy playing out and spending time on his tablet.

Pretty much a normal week really all in all!

GetAHaircutCarl · 30/10/2016 15:38

We have two weeks.
The first was fine. DC had lots of school work to do, plus applications for college, drama school. I also had work to do. DH was away so my mum visited too.

Second week was good. We went away for a few days and had fun, sightseeing, eating strange food etc.

EveOnline2016 · 30/10/2016 17:08

A blur :(

papayasareyum · 30/10/2016 17:14

It was awful. I'm looking forward to tomorrow.

Muskateersmummy · 30/10/2016 17:17

It's been lovely. Our first half term, so we have met some friends, I have worked a couple of days so she's had some time with her DGM which she loves, then we have had a long family weekend. PD day tomorrow so we are going to make something for her to take to school on Tuesday. It's been lovely spending time with her and finding out new stuff about her school and her friends.

sherazade · 30/10/2016 20:34

Loads of lazy days hanging about together
A few days out - zoo, movie and meal
But the best days were spent at home , baking, lounging and enjoying the lack of structure !

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 30/10/2016 20:43

A week in Tenerife with DH and DS and DD.

Got home last night.
Watched The Walking Dead on catch up

Got my guinea-pigs home from boarding. Grin

Tomorrow, I have a day of leave booked to do the post holiday sort out.
DD has an inset day, DS back to 6th Form College.

Nice. Relaxed.
Back to the real world on Tuesday

OdinsLoveChild · 30/10/2016 20:43

It went really fast. I didn't get half the things done I wanted to and the next half term is already fully booked so I can't move any visits.

I think my children have really matured this year and they haven't been killing each other or arguing. I think maybe we used to race around during holidays to prevent any fighting from breaking out and this week everything has been fairly pleasant and just lovely so more laid back. I've probably jinxed myself now so Christmas holidays are going to be torturous Confused

GerdaLovesLili · 30/10/2016 20:52

I was looking forward to the end of half term quite fervently as Small Son had a flu-y thing the week before and was really recuperating over the actual half term so we didn't do anything, and I am bored stiff. But I've got myself a new job rather more quickly than I anticipated and won't have any "breathing time" before I start on Tuesday. So tomorrow I will be trying to find my work clothes and then it's back to full time work which will be a bit of a shock to the system.

Mishegoss · 30/10/2016 20:57

I normally enjoy the holidays but I've struggled this week. Both kids have been ill and it's all been a bit of a nightmare. Looking forward to a bit of normality.

Cuppaand2biscuits · 30/10/2016 20:59

Brilliant, I'm so sad mine are back tomorrow. A week just isn't enough to fit in everything I want to do with them..

madmomma · 30/10/2016 22:41

Mixed really. Nice to be with them mainly but Ds6 is extremely demanding so that gets stressful. My girls are always chilled. We've done trampolining, cinema and seen friends & family, few board game sessions and far too much telly.

pointythings · 30/10/2016 23:18

It was fab. Even though I had to work on Monday and have been struggling with an awful cold the rest of the time. Had a great time with teen DDs - archery practice in our club's woods, Christmas shopping with us and DH, day out in Cambridge with DD1 with a nice lunch, ComicCon on Saturday and out to the cinema to see Dr Strange today. I still have the sodding cold and feel pretty ill, but it couldn't have been better.
