(playful) what is the perfect thread?

OK, I'll start (as it is my thread).

1 of 2.

First is a perfect situation, where OP is being blamed/wronged/asked for a favour which is totally out of order/cheeky. Posters come back and OP updates frequently to move the scenario along. (eg... I sent xx text/FB post, and got the following reply... Now what do I do?)

Second is an unreasonable OP, posters come back to say this and OP defends, defends, defends.

These are the threads I LOVE. What works for you?

Any parking / bin / other neighbourly dispute needs a diagram (as does anything sporny related). An OP who is prepared to put this sort of effort into the thread is a Good Egg

One of those "tell us your outrageous story about..." threads, they get me through long nights when the pain is high, cracking stories that manage to make me smile

I also love it when the OP does not think they are BU and just start fighting with everyone it really is entertaining!

I like threads where the OP feels the issue she is posting about is her main concern. However, as more posters come along, ask questions, and more information is revealed, the situation radically changes. After a while it is clear that the OP can suddenly see the situation in a new light. These threads often contain really insightful posts, MN at it's best.

I also enjoy the funny threads where a picture is posted, of something unusual/unclear and posters are asked what it is.

Absolutely LOVE a good overbearing/sociopathic PIL thread (whilst sympathising obvs)

Ditto a lengthy 'creepiest thing to happen' thread,

But my fave thread ever is in MN Classics - can't remember what it's called, but that long 'Cheekiest' thread, which included the Mexican Holiday Neighbour is my winner of all time.

Mexican house thief is a classic.

Um...love those worst date/birthday present/holiday ever threads. They can be very funny.

I like a good brass necker. I can't stick exploitative, cheeky people so I always get a pash on for them.

penguin bollards. that was fabulous.

Any thread where tales of cheek/rudeness/loveliness/kindness/meanness are told.

Love them -keep me entertained for hours!

Spooky story.
MIL craziness. Particularly controlling one's.
Cliffhangers.
Some sort of flirting /inappropriateness.
Eccentric British faux pas.
A box/ sealed container in an attic/dungeon from 1872 that needs to be opened.

What got me back into mumsnetting timewasting was the thread on making pancakes in the sandwich toaster!
Love hearing about all these cheeky entitled people, definitely with updates.

Bride/gluezilla was the perfect thread. Others can only aspire to its lofty heights

Threads which aren't too full or if they are, OP has to be responsive! Actual funny threads, not one that involves taking the piss outta men/Vegans/ the elderly etc but actual funny situation threads like the Pom bears! I just remember reading it and One minute the husband is sensible the next ur brings out the Pom bears!
