I cook 90% of the time if not more. DH works has long commute so only fair. However at weekends or if he's off he STILL takes it for granted that I'll cook. If challenged he would say he doesn't but it's 9pm and we still haven't eaten basically because I haven't made anything. He said half an hour ago can you be arsed to cook, I said no and he said do you want me to cook. I said yes but he's still watching tv. I am NOT going to cook but I'm hungry and angry (and petty probably).

Pasta pesto sounds nicer than a bowl of cornflakes Wink

cdtaylornats · 27/10/2016 22:27

I had defrosted some chicken but clearly he couldn't be arsed to cook that

The one whose cooking picks the dish and doesn't do the dishes.

JoJoSM2 · 27/10/2016 22:29

Just talk to him and decide in advance who is going to cook. And ask him nicely. You just seem to be winding each other up instead... My dh used to find it difficult to work out what to cook so I make a list of dinner options when I order the shop - all he needs to do is pick one of the options and get on with it.

PinkSwimGoggles · 27/10/2016 22:29

you don't need to cook to eat. make youself a sandwich without showing h

weediculous · 27/10/2016 22:33

Yes but cd had I cooked the chicken he would have eaten it. I'm veggie so defrosted it for him because he moans if there's no meat!

I don't blame you and talking to him about it tomorrow would be a good idea you need to tell him your fed up of always cooking for everyone,he could easily do his fair share on his days off.

If it was me though I'd have gone and treated myself to a take away.

Butterly · 27/10/2016 22:36

My DH also does this. I actually think he'd starve if I didn't cave and cook a meal. I'm definitely going to try the 'popping out for milk/heading straight for kfc' trick next time.

Alabastard · 27/10/2016 22:38

Are you married to my exh?

MsJudgemental · 27/10/2016 22:38

You're veggie and you prepare meat for him and he still can't be arsed? Sort yourself out and leave him to it.

Longdistance · 27/10/2016 22:43

I do the majority of cooking except on a Friday when it's a take out.

If I can't be bothered to cook, I'll tell Dh I can't be asked arsed so he'll make something.

Though eating so late is a bummer.

user1471494124 · 27/10/2016 22:52

If you hate cooking so much, why don't you just eat the same as the kids???

(I think he is a lazy arse too, BTW.)

user1471494124 · 27/10/2016 22:53

Not saying YOU are a lazy arse though, just to be clear!

weediculous · 27/10/2016 22:58

The kids have different tastes and diets (I'm the only vege in the house).

When I can I do try and cook a meal that will do for all 4 of us

Don't get me wrong I had this with my DP but after laying down the law he's now a lot better. He does still ask what to cook then inevitably says he doesn't know how to make that. He always Googles a recipe afterwards Wink.

cheshire practice makes perfect Grin
