AIBU to think that the new series of Black Mirror somewhat trivialises so-called "child porn"? SPOILERS.

Not sure if anyone's seen this, but there's an episode where people are blackmailed into committing crimes by hackers. The young boy is shown as vulnerable/a character to sympathise with throughout. You are basically left thinking he's been done wrong, and that being filmed wanking isn't a particularly bad crime.

Then you discover he's looked at child abuse and masturbated over it.

AIBU to think that this was in bad taste?

It subverts the whole narrative you previously held about the episode. Think of the bit at the beginning when he gives the child her toy back. Felt like a nice kid doing good but fucking creepy in retrospect.

A paedophile can be anyone is the point along with a clever plot device which isn't dissimilar to how actual online paedophile rings exploit children through blackmail.

There was a similar twist in the episode"White Bear", the main character was seen as victim and then more information was revealed. And of course both the punishments were ludicrously sadistic.

Hated in the Nation was VERY thought provoking.

I'm loving the who black mirror series. Shut up and Dance was the most disturbing so far (not seen them all yet).

I watched this with DS (18) and in that scene he said it was creepy and he guessed that the man had been viewing images of child abuse. And he said the man wouldn't have fought to the death if it had just been the wanking. I didn't call it though - I thought it was just the wanking.

I watched one episode where the PM was blackmailed into having sex with a pig. It made me feel sick and I complained to OFFCOM. Never watched it since. Over-rated sensationalist crap

Yes imagine how far from reality and over sensationalised the prospect of a Prime Minister undertaking a sex act with a pig. It could never happen in real life.
