how-old.net

I just did it with 2 photos - one came up as 28 and the as 77 - DH came up as 55

We are 39 and 37 respectively

We can't stop laughing - not so funny for some though

AIBU to ask how far out it was for you (or not)

OP posts:
Spurtle · 23/10/2016 22:02

50, 23, 31.
I'm 37

mando12345 · 23/10/2016 22:03

Knocked 8 years of my age, photo with no make up, obviously very accurate;)

Liiinoo · 23/10/2016 22:04

I messed about with one once. I came out at several ages between 14 and 62. I was 53. They are shit.

I think they are loaded to mark darker skin tones older. In the more exposed, so lighter skin toned shots I was judged much younger. If I reduced the contrast so my wrinkles were blurred I came out as younger (obviously). If I tied my hair back so I had a cleaner jawline - younger. Heavier make up with heavy eyeliner = older.

RoonilWaslibb · 23/10/2016 22:04

I'm 25 and I got 28 when not smiling and 20 when smiling. Which I think is generous as I look about 12 when I smile.

DP is 27 and got 37 hehe when not smiling and 27 when he was.

MonkeyPoozzled76 · 23/10/2016 22:06

Two selfies taken just now...33 and 36. I'm 40 so I'm taking that. it's dark in here mind

Just tried a picture of me as a kid and it said 5 which was correct Smile

Dreamstosell · 23/10/2016 22:06

My 12 year old is apparently 28 and his twin is 7!

MetalMidget · 23/10/2016 22:06

I got between 27 and 60. I'm 36! Bastards!

It also thought my 13 week old son was a 2-3 year old girl...

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 23/10/2016 22:08

I did it with a picture of me, dh and ds1 at ds1'S graduation.

It said I was 37 - I was 51 when the photo was taken.

It said dh was 57 - he was 52.

It said ds1 is 44 - he was 22!!

LurkingHusband · 23/10/2016 22:08

All sounds hilarious until you read that real politicians with actual power think it should be used to allow refugee claims.

Also worth bearing in mind we're not that far from people being arrested on the say so of similar technology ....

Psychomumsucks · 23/10/2016 22:09

Mine said 23 and I am in January so I'm happy with that.

MistressMolecules · 23/10/2016 22:10

I got between 43 and 55 (about 10 goes) with a photo I took just now. I am 37 although I do look very tired.

DrDreReturns · 23/10/2016 22:13

Like I said Lurking biometric software is notoriously unreliable! I used to work with fingerprints, and facial recognition software was widely recognised as being a lot less accurate than fingerprints.
This technology should never be used in isolation - it should always be used with other evidence / intelligence.

Looneytune253 · 23/10/2016 22:14

Cool, I'm almost 34 and it guessed 34. Hubby is 44 and it guessed 37. He's always looked young for his age tho. Tried a different pic of me and it picked up a baby photo in the background instead and guessed 3 😂

AxminsterCarpet · 23/10/2016 22:16

I put one of me and my mum up - it gave my age as 37, (I am 50+!) and my Mum as 81 - she's 76 and looks quite young for her age! She will be mad as hell, lol lol! Grin

Boogers · 23/10/2016 22:16

Me (38) am either 59 or 64 depending on the photo.
H (42) is 56
DS (13) is 23
DD (7) is 5

What a load of bollocks.

cardibach · 23/10/2016 22:19

It's clearly a random guess. First one - 48 (not far out). Second - taken less than a minute later - 67. Its all bollocks. For the record, I actually looked better in the second photo...

Rattusn · 23/10/2016 22:22

It was interesting to try. It has me as younger, and dh as older, but that reflects how old we look tbh. It more than doubled my children's ages though!

Imsickofnamechanging · 23/10/2016 22:22

My 12yr old is apparently 39 Confused whilst I am 36, I'm 47.

Chansey · 23/10/2016 22:23

I got 46 (I'm 52) and my grandson sat on my lap got 4 (he's 8 months) Hmm

Lunde · 23/10/2016 22:23

It is completely unreliable
Dh - software said 46 - actual age 59
dd1 - software said 27 - actual age 18
dd2 software said 28 - actual age 16

me software said 33 - actual age 53 :)

So on average 10+ years wrong - it over estimated the age of my late teens but severely underestimated me and dh

BowieFan · 23/10/2016 22:24

78 and 74. I'm 39 (40 on Friday).

DP is 40 and got 21 and 28. Lucky git.

For fun, I tried DS1 and DS2 (both 14 tomorrow) - they got 22 and 31.

So basically, I'm an old woman, DP is my toyboy and our kids look older than him.

BowieFan · 23/10/2016 22:26

*15 tomorrow for DS I should have said.

MistressMolecules · 23/10/2016 22:26

My 22 month old is almost 5 apparently although in another photo she was two and I was 39 (not too bad I suppose compared to the last lot and the 90 year old I just got). My 14 year old was 22 and 14.

ErnesttheBavarian · 23/10/2016 22:27

I'm 46 and it guessed me at 37, then 44 then 36. So that's ended my day on a high. Actually if you want to feel younger just have a chat with an old lady. I was running with my dog and met her, said hello. Saw her again à short while later and she commented on how far /fast I'd been and said she could do that anymore now she was no longer a youth like me Grin

OvariesBeforeBrovaries · 23/10/2016 22:28

37... I'm 22 and usually struggle to pass for over 18 Grin
