AIBU?

To tell you all that parsnip and halloumi is the greatest combination ever?

I don't especially enjoy parsnip, it's OK, but I have to be in the mood. However, I grated 1 parsnip, grated some halloumi, mixed it, stuck it in oven with butter dotted on top, 180 for 20 minutes.
You can thank me later.....

Sounds like a waste of perfectly good cheese to me.

In DH's and my opinion there is NOTHING that isn't improved by the addition of halloumi.

(Nothing as in "a foodstuff", for those pedantic types.)

We have no parsnips, or halloumi, but next time we do which will be soon I am so going to try it. Especially since you mention butter being used; anything which is a vehicle for butter is grist to my mill.

Grilled halloumi is food of the gods. I'm quite partial to a parsnip. I will indeed be back to thank you later.

IrenetheQuaint I do that too, try grating it
FeelingSmurfy
I just grated it with the large side of the grater but smaller may still work (no guarantee, refunds not accepted)

Yes, butter makes anything better, I agree

A poster on here once suggested grated beetroot, carrot, onion and halloumi, mixed up and fried until crispy - now one of my favourite easy dinners, so good. Will give this a go too. I love halloumi.

Love halloumi. However parsnips give me ghastly wind and stomach ache. Will they still affect me this way?

Although liking the sound of plumpers alternative.

The only thing that could make this worse is if it came with a side of scrambled egg. Bleugh!

Sounds like it will either be amazing or revolting Grin

I'm sorry if I sounded like a doctor, I'm not, just a humble amateur chef. I cannot advise on your wind problem or whether or not you will be affected. I can only advise trying this dish on your own with the windows open

Scrambled egg wouldn't go with this at all, wrong texture, flavour, colour, everything really. Plus, it wouldn't make any sense for you to prepare a meal you hate so feel free not to, unless you are a sadist and want to pair it with more things you don't like then force yourself to eat it. Your choice.
Sweatynetty the former, definitely. I am really not joking about this.

How on earth did you come up with this concoction? I've added a parsnip and halloumi to my online order, so I hope it lives up to expectation. Wink

My DD has recently gone veggie and we are exploring all sorts of things so she doesn't fall into an 'egg and chips' rut. We will try this OP, thanks!

Family anonymice will also try this. It sounds fantastic. I love halloumi and parsnips.

Parsnips are evil, they are almost as hellish as coconut.
Halloumi, however, is lovely.
Each to their own though, after all, my OH hates cucumber, with a passion. I always thought it was rather innocuous.
