Its 0240 and my ocd is in over drive. Hate people being in my space as I know the 'rules' of how I live. Just cleaned kitchen, and bedroom but can't do floors or take rubbish out as I will need a shower straight after.

I know it has to be done but I always get worked up.

Maitland they must have been pretty dusty in fact probably filthy to have meant you failed though. And if you need to allow two whole weeks to get the house to an acceptable standard before an imminent inspection then what sort of mess are you living in? shock So perhaps they had a point...

Dust on the skirting boards is not going affect whether the property needs redecorating and commenting on it or "failing" the inspection because of it is ridiculous.

Without making light of the situation it is awful how wound up tenants get over annual inspections when they are good tenants who care about the place.

Usually LLs who are doing the check themselves don't always know what they are looking for and often only really care about checking for damage and breaches of the AST, for example keeping unauthorised pets or smoking in the property.

Then you have the LAs who are doing the check on behalf of a LL who care little about the check itself bar the fee that they will charge for having carried it out.

I know they have to be done, it's my insecurities that stressed me out. As I say, I don't like people in my space. Ocd sucks!

The only time I care about mess is if it effects the property. For example, dirty plate on the kitchen counter? Don't sweat it.
Food tipped on the carpet (I'm afraid I've seen that) is a problem as as well as staining the carpet it can cause mold, which can spread
