DD is in the last year before going to high school, she doesn't particularly like school (any school) but works hard because she knows the teacher expects it and wants to do well.
The fly in the ointment is homework. Her school have announced that they will not be marking the homework. DD has just done her maths homework, it's untidy and she's rushed it and has looked up some of the answers online because she didn't understand it. She's written on her sheet that she doesn't understand it but the teacher won't even look it at. This was confirmed at the recent meeting for parents about the year.
She's not impressed, I'm even less than impressed. Surely the teachers should be marking the homework that they are getting the children to do? I'm concerned that DD will get (or already has got) a bad attitude to homework and will go to high school thinking she can hand in shoddy homework because the teachers don't look at it.
