Warning- totally gross.

I've had it two weeks now, I believe it came from a blackhead I squeezed (which I never usually do- this is why!). It's about a centimetre wide and doesn't have a head, although I did manage to pop it about 5 days ago. (Last warning- this is very graphic!) A LOT of pus and blood came out, it burst pretty forcefully and afterwards felt deflated like a blister, but thicker

It filled up and again 2 days ago I squeezed out the pus, but it's back. I'm worried about constantly doing it and have tried sudecrem a number of times.

How to get rid of it??

I got in exactly like this, it wouldn't come up properly for ages and was so big (on my top lip) thatit pulled my top lip into a sneer. I put freedmen on it and It came up with two big heads, I squeezed it and so much stuff came out and was all black goo at the very bottom. It disappeared afterwards.

Ooh I've had ones exactly like that, I can feel the ghost of them now. My skin has a specific type of spot for that specific area. No new advice, but do try to stop poking and prodding because that will risk scarring. Hard, I know!

Hello! I have shitty non-cystic acne and am well acquainted with these kinds of spots.

If you are going to use hydrocolloid plasters you may find they work more effectively if you prick the spot with a sterilised needle before applying the plaster - but don't squeeze it.

Tea tree oil & toothpaste will dry it out but this might not really help you, esp not if this is a reoccurring spot. If you do want to try drying it, steer clear of the toothpaste if poss and dilute the tea tree to oblivion before applying it.

Ideally you want to calm the inflammation so the spot can start to heal. Some people have luck using crushed aspirin tablets mixed with a tiny amount of water to form a paste. The salicylic acid in the aspirin is the magical ingredient in some of the milder OTC acne treatments. This has always been too drying and too weak to work on any of my spots but I reckon you have more agreeable skin.

That's all I have that doesn't involve you buying large tubes of expensive stuff...

Best of luck!

Ice pack to calm swelling then blister plaster overnight.

Apply ice pack til ice melts and your face aches a bit with the cold. No use just dabbing at it with an ice cube.

Bravura do bottle of a salicylic acid 2% peel for around a tenner that I find really effective when applied in the early/blackhead stages of these. At the moment, it might do a good job clearing up the aftermath once you have done the ice/plaster thing.
