To quit after 3 months

I started a new role three months ago.

Since joining found out my boss had a work related breakdown earlier this year, someone else had a stroke, and huge staff turnover.

I am not enjoying role at all, have suffered high blood pressure before now on meds, but in the last week I have been on verge of tears twice and dread going in.

My old boss at my old company would have me back in a couple of months.

Would it be awful to give one months notice now even without a definite job offer lined up. Have enough savings etc.

Blood pressure before has been dangerously high and I am thinking health first but feel guilty about current boss who is still not really well.

I would just leave. No job is worth making yourself ill for, you have another job to go to in a few months and savings to get by on. Definitely just go! I wouldn't even give notice if I was that unhappy

TheSnowFairy · 25/09/2016 10:13

I would get the other job offer in writing first.

Eebahgum · 25/09/2016 10:15

If you give a months notice and your job offer is in a couple of months would you be able to get by in between? If so, go for it.

Deadcatbounce · 25/09/2016 10:16

Thanks, normally I would, but I can feel my be and stress levels rising and tending to think I need to leave soon?

Do it, put your health first!

sonjadog · 25/09/2016 10:19

If you can get by until another job comes along, then this is a no brainer. You leave this job. Your health is more important than any job.

lovelilies · 25/09/2016 10:19

Life is too short. Hand in your notice. Your new boss isn't your responsibility, be honest and say you're sorry you're leaving but it's just not good for your physical and mental health. Flowers
Good luck

Deadcatbounce · 25/09/2016 10:31

Thanks all, yes will resign, do not want to get ill or stressed

Do it. I quit a job after 6 weeks because i hated it without a back up plan. Luckily my notice period was short and with holidays I was able to leave the next day. I started freelancing 4 weeks later.

It's not worth staying in a role you dislike.

DoristheNovice · 27/09/2016 10:59

No job is more important than your health. Quit.

Snowflakes1122 · 27/09/2016 11:13

Your health comes first. Leave and don't feel bad! Sounds a terrible place to work if so many are ill or leaving.

t4nut · 27/09/2016 11:19

If you have a job lined up just walk - your health is more important than a job.

DiegeticMuch · 27/09/2016 14:47

Definitely quit. If you can get an offer in writing from your old boss for a November/December start, even better....you know that you'll only be between jobs for a matter of weeks then.
