Quality street are no longer doing the toffee deluxe ! It's been replaced by a honeycomb sweet. WTAF!

The honeycomb are quite nice. I was disappointed to have a honeycomb one yesterday without honeycomb in it. On the bright side it was a honeycomb-shaped chocolate block which was nice.

onecrazycook · 23/09/2016 20:13

Toffees should be in chocolate selections. Chocolates should. Good riddance to the chewy bastards

onecrazycook · 23/09/2016 20:15

Ugghhhh

  • that should say toffee shouldn't be in there

Fucks saaaake

Thingvellir · 23/09/2016 20:40

I am hoping Cadbury see this thread and reconsider their decision.

Sadly the current owners wreckers of Cadbury's have spent a full year ignoring our feedback under their sponsorship deal propaganda campaign on MN. I don't expect they will start listening now Hmm

Thingvellir · 23/09/2016 20:42

Argh! I retract my Cadbury's hating! QS are Nestle. Apologies

CatNip2 · 23/09/2016 20:42

Ok, so I slagged Roses off on a thread this morning, let's get onto Milk Tray and Black Magic and Terry's All gold, all shit now, all taste the same with different shaped crap chocolates with the same fillings. Thornton's Continental, all the same.

Can anyone recommend good quality chocolates, for a treat, that taste nice?

unlucky83 · 23/09/2016 20:53

Good - boycott Nestle because of selling and promoting formula to third world countries. More info here
www.babymilkaction.org/nestlefree
They make everything so boycotting them is easier said than done but I never knowingly buy Nestle (and cringe when people do 'Smartie tube fundraisers '- they give DCs a tube of smarties and you are supposed to return it filled with 20ps/£1s...)

BarbaraofSeville · 23/09/2016 20:59

You are brave to ask why boycott Nestle on here Goodgrief It's a bit Mumsnet 101 - if there was an entry test, it would be part of it.

It's all to do with evil multinational company encouraging poor developing world mothers to feed their babies, not with breast milk, but with their formula milk mixed up with the only water they have which is horrible and dirty so the mothers get poorer and the babies get sick and Nestle make millions out of it.

I like Hotel Chocolat, Ferrero Rocher and things from Aldi, Lidl or M&S CatNip. You really have to try for yourself because there's a lot of people on here that seem to hate Hotel Chocolat.

BarbaraofSeville · 23/09/2016 21:02

Just like unlucky says, babymilkaction. It's very longstanding, 20 years at least.

I think we should boycott coca cola too. They uses masses of clean water in countries when it's not a universal resource like it is in the UK to make their products full of sugar and artificial sweeteners to sell to people who really don't have the disposable income to buy them.

eddielizzard · 23/09/2016 21:09

i looove hotel chocolat. their fruity chocs are great.

eddielizzard · 23/09/2016 21:11

as long as they don't mess with:

the toffee fingers
fudge
strawberry cream
orange cream
toffee coins

i shall continue to buy them at christmas. but they just fuck up ONE of those and they are dead meat.

TroubleinDaFamily · 23/09/2016 21:12

Oysterbabe · 23/09/2016 21:16

Bleugh I hate honeycomb. Fucking crunchies are disgusting.

FabFiveFreddie · 23/09/2016 21:17

Ah, that's just made me reminisce big time about Amy Winehouse. Such a talented young woman. Life was better when she was making music.

HarryPottersMagicWand · 23/09/2016 21:20

I've just eaten a crunchy and very nice it was too. But to replace the best Quality Street with it! NOT happy! They could have got rid of the shifty toffee pennys or the horrible coconuts, they are never eaten in this house.

I've just bloody bought 2 tubs of QS as Tesco had 2 for £7. May as well just burn the fuckers now.

HarryPottersMagicWand · 23/09/2016 21:21

Shitty SHITTY , auto correct, not shifty!

blueturtle6 · 23/09/2016 21:21

They should get rid of the toffee penny, its not chocolate and they are alway last til the end.

The80sweregreat · 23/09/2016 21:22

Buy heroes instead.

BaronessBomburst · 23/09/2016 21:27

Adding my support to the Nestlé boycott.
They are dirty, dirty bastards.

OnceThereWasThisGirlWho · 23/09/2016 21:50

Surely if they wanted to remove a toffee it should be the toffee penny?

I can feel my teeth sticking together just thinking about it!

123MothergotafleA · 23/09/2016 21:54

Save all those toffee pennies for me please folks. They're the only ones worth eating, wish I could get a boxful of them.
Yes, "Cadbury" is shit, fact.I would just as soon eat a tub of lard.

GabsAlot · 23/09/2016 21:59

them apple ones are vile

i just shudderd th8inking about them

qs used to be good years ago-alot of years ago

Masketti · 23/09/2016 22:01

You won't believe me but there's an actual science to this. They will have done research to determine what the best mix of sweet types is and decided there were too many toffee ones and THAT one had to go.

FWIW I disagree with the science Grin

nursepearl · 24/09/2016 02:45

This is outrageous! We are all toffee eaters in this house so one less type of toffee is an absolute disaster! We are left with tonnes of soft centres as we hate them, replace toffee with honeycomb? I've never heard anything like itShock

Goodgriefisitginfizzoclock · 24/09/2016 03:19

Didn't know about Nestle hangs head in shame
