Morrisons offering 10% discount to students, but not to OAPs when many will starve to death this winter

I think this is a really bad idea for Morrisons to offer 10% off to students, but fuck all to pensioners. This comes just as the winter arrives and respectable charities like Age UK are warning that 1/4 of pensioners are living in poverty and many will have to starve or freeze to death this winter.

And various holiday companies offer 5% off as well

What a drame llama. Pensioners are not starving to death.

The pensioners in my area are infinitely better off than the students. They're also the reason I can't afford a house. They are the only ones to use the subsidized bus system as the rest of us pay an extortionate amount of money so just don't bother.

There are a substantial number of 'excess winter deaths' amongst older pensioners. It is true that many more pensioners die over the winter than should do. And much of this is due to hypothermia. Poverty is a factor but sadly it's also a lot about people refusing help.

And some pensioners are very poor. Just because this generation of pensioners is better off than ever before, and better off in general than young adults does not mean that there are not some in poverty.

Thing is I often not to sure how good older people are with money my nan dose her weekly shop in marks and spencer 😳 We have tried to show her she would be about £68 better off a week if she shopped in Lidi witch is closer and stopped buying bloody flowers

But she won't have it
