To be hating noisy kids on our honeymoon!

Currently sat by a beautiful lagoon type pool in a large hotel, very much a honeymoon destination.

Purposely chose a secluded, quiet area to sit in surround by other couples.

Until a family with three kids plonked themselves down and the kids proceed to jump in off the side (and a bridge, bit dangerous I'd of thought), splash, push shout and fall out all day.

AIBU to think why the parents would choose to sit here and not at one of the two kids pools???!!! Tried to read my kindle in the jacuzzi/pool and had to move twice as they were splashing me.

We don't have kids and I get its their holiday too but come on?! I'm on honeymoon I want to chill!

Slightly tongue in cheek before I get mumsnet bashed!

Get your DH to rub sun cream on you slowly and suggestively while you make lots of loud appreciative 'je t'aime' type noises. That'll probably scare them away!

gallicgirl it does seem an odd decision. I think hiding away breasts is a British thing. We seem a lot more prudish than other European countries. Personally, I choose to keep mine and the rest of my body hidden from view because a) I'll be the colour of a tomato in seconds and b) nobody needs to see my wobbly bits. Grin

Not adults only no but it's not the school hols now and it's a 15 hour flight from the uk with a connecting flight so I guessed it'd be quiet

Children are not exclusive to the UK you know!

FWIW I hear your pain there OP. Other people's children are very annoying!
Just start giving you DH a BJ, they'll soon sod off.

Why shoud the kids be in school? You have no idea of the families circumstances, they country they are from, whether they are under 5, or even if they are home schooled.

YABU OP, you should have picked a adult only resort.

OOOOH OP that's where we went for our honeymoon! It's a beautiful hotel and - for the same reasons as you - we specifically picked it because of the lack of kid-friendly facilities (and a review on tripadvisor that complained it wasn't child friendly enough).

Just to clarify to other posters, this hotel is not marketed at a 'normal hotel' - it's not adults-only but the focus is very much on chilled out luxury (no kids club, etc).

We'd have been annoyed to have kids screaming and jumping off the bridge (if it's the one im thinking of I'm amazed the staff havent stopped them).

Maybe treat yourself and hire one of they daybed / cabana thingies to lounge on? Have a beautiful honeymoon OP (can recommend Ku De Ta in Seminyak for sunset cocktails Grin)

Hotels that are sold as being 'Adults only' by Thomson et al don't guarantee that there won't be kids there. Often they're given the label as there are no provision for children's entertainment, but tour operators from other countries may happily sell rooms to families. You need to check the hotel website to check whether kids are properly forbidden. ;)

Anyway, try a topless and graphic public display of affection, or swear profusely. Or combine the two and refer to your husband as your 'lovely cockrocket fuck toy'.

Congratulations, btw!

Yanbu overall.

Ya a to have thought no children would turn up based on just it being uk term time!

Yanbu to expect parents to control children or consider other guests enjoyment.

However, once your own comes along you'll understand why parents are ignoring the constant yelling - it's grates on us as well and an outdoor area is about the only place it boarders on acceptable for them to be loud mouthed little Gits!

I like the idea of you joining the loudness and it including all things you'll do to each other later as you're on honeymoon Wink
