... to ask you all for a brilliant question to put forward on BBC QT tomorrow so I'll definitely get on the telly?

They gave me a phone interview today and basically said my question wasn't topical enough & I should think of another one.
Feeling like this is such an opportunity but I'm a bit brain dead after surgery last week so please can you lovely MNetters help me out?
Panel is to consist of:
Justine Greening MP, Conservative, Education Secretary;
John McDonnell MP, Labour, Shadow Chancellor;
Joanna Cherry MP, SNP, Justice & Home Affairs Spokesperson;
Alistair Campbell, Broadcaster and former Director of Communications for Tony Blair and
Quentin Letts, Journalist & Parliamentary Sketch Writer for the Daily Mail
Think in particular we could collectively find something amusing to ask Mr Letts?
Thanks in advance

I actually think I should wrap myself in gold paper. See if that gets me on the flipping telly, sod the question.
Now I'm laughing and about to rupture my healing pelvic floor (had a hysterectomy)...!

I've just read that Justine Greening has pulled out

Well, she's had a busy week what with talking to MPs in the House twice and appearing on the Today programme.

Why appear on a flagship BBC current affairs programme where the public might have to ask her questions?

0pti0na1 · 14/09/2016 22:35

Not topical enough, but otherwise I'd suggest What's your favourite biscuit?" Grin

0pti0na1 · 14/09/2016 22:37

Do grammar schools aid social mobility?

AvaCrowder · 14/09/2016 22:47

I would ask about what mattered to me

Historical child abuse enquiry
Southern trains
People who own multiple houses

I would wear that green kaftan with pride.

Good luck.

I went once and deliberately didn't submit a question - I didn't want to "be on telly" - just interested to see what it was like.

Thanks for all your input on this one, folks. Was a fascinating evening.
My question didn't get picked, but my amazing Corbynista daughter got a full 4 minutes of airtime at the end. I am sitting next to her 'looking like I'd trodden in dog shit', apparently, but I can take that...
Her profile has now gone viral. She's getting media attention from across the world and is one step closer to launching her political career!
Have a great weekend...

Ooh I wonder if I saw her. Was she the 16 year old? Smile

goldwrapped · 17/09/2016 14:43

She was the 17 year old Corbynista in the red top. Who owned Anna Soubry in the last 10 minutes.

Ha! The key word that I missed in your post was Corbynista! You are both very pretty and glamorous. Your DD is clearly very passionate and articulate. Nice one!

allsfairinlove · 17/09/2016 20:11

What an impressive young woman your DD is!
I think we might even be looking at a future leader of the Labour Party... Not joking!
