It's not so much getting it in, it's the installation...

Just a thought - have you seen AO.com AGL?. Pretty good value and I can't see anything on their website which alludes to ground floor delivery only. I used them before for a wshing machine and they installed new one, took away old one and called me on the day to advise time of delivery......

AO said they need a clear path to the installation point - does up a staircase and then up another flight of stairs count?

I would read clear path as no obstructions they would have to carry it over/under/around I think.....

They'd have to carry it up, turn 90 degrees and up again

AGL, give their customer services a ring. There must be leniency there because you aren't the first person to ever live in a flat. What are you meant to do? Not wash your clothes? Take them to a river and beat them with a stone?
