desperate for lost teddy (Jellycat 2008) - can anyone help?

This is the first time I've posted.
It's hard to write about it but we lost the teddy my 7 year old son has had since he was born. He absolutely loved teddy saying "Mummy I love teddy more than I can say" just before we lost him. We left my bag/had it stolen on a train in Czech this summer (my husband and I were having a tough time at the time...)
My son has skin-sensitivity issues and the feel of the teddy's special arm on his skin really soothed him, day and night. Now he tries to get soothed my touching his younger sister which drives her crazy, starts fights etc. He looks so lost without him. And can't seem to settle. He
misses him for both company and for the feel of him.
I have tried and tried to find a replacement on line but the teddy is no longer available. Please if ANYONE has the same teddy and their child no longer wants/needs the teddy could we please adopt him. Or if you know where we might find one. This is the teddy bear:

I am at a loss what to do and desperate to find a replacement. Also terribly sad and so angry myself at letting this happen.
Sorry for such a long thread. PLEASE HELP.

Our son's teacher had a soft toy monkey and the children took it in turns to take the monkey home for the weekend. When it was our son's turn to bring Monkey home he absolutely fell in love with him and was really sad to give him up on the Monday.

I desperately tried to find one the same for him but to no avail. In the end I got one as close as I could - it was smaller but it had a cute little face and our son accepted him.(He is autistic and has sensory issues). He still loves Monkey and still takes him away with him even though he is now 21.

Your son has been without his teddy for several months now so it may be that he will accept another soft toy with a cute face. If nothing else, his sister needs a break!

This bear is white but he has the same kind of arms and a similar appealing face to the other one.

It seems unlikely that you are going to find an exact replacement and trying to get enough people to buy 2000 bears is, I think, a non starter.

The other alternative is to go for something else now he is a bit older.

And if you do decide to buy another toy and your son becomes similarly attached, buy another one to keep as a spare or to rotate with the other one before it goes out of production!

Agree with everyone else, time to get used to change.

The 2000 bears thing sound like trying to milk a personal quandary into some sort of viral fame. Which you might enjoy, but your DS would probably gain more from being supported to accept an alternative.

Sorry for cynicism. Not very xmassy of me.

Might I add, when searching for old bears etc. use the term 'retired' in search as it is often used for discontinued items.

I agree fully with pp. Much as we want to make e everything ok for our kids- you can't it's life unfortunately. You'd be better of helping him to try and cope with this. You said it happened when you and hubby were having a tough time. Maybe if things are still tough this is contributing to his sadness and dare I say yours too. Whatever you do i wish you well.

The tags match but it looks a bit different. It's Ebay USA site, happy to get it for you, if you need help.
