It is the funniest thing I've seen in ages and it's such a frighteningly accurate portrayal of being a mum!

Noeuf - I cackled through Bad Moms too and often am bemused at what posters find funny on MN so I expect I'll hate itGrin

milpool · 07/09/2016 21:08

I really liked it! Even DH liked it which I was surprised at. That Citizens Advice line was gold Grin

Mollymoo78 · 07/09/2016 21:11

Yes my dh loved it too!

Cubtrouble · 07/09/2016 21:23

Hilarious. Well worth watching

Wishfulmakeupping · 07/09/2016 21:24

Knew Sharon Horgan must have been involved a few minutes in...do funny I really hope they do a series

SouthWestmom · 07/09/2016 21:31

Dame. Luckily I took a real person to Bad Moms and she laughed to.
I hated this so much, really strained and predictable. But I also hate mummy blogs and this reminded me of one.

Tootsiepops · 07/09/2016 21:34

I thought it was rubbish.

CremeEggThief · 07/09/2016 21:38

Well I wouldn't say it was brilliant or hilarious, but it was well acted and funny. Julia was absolutely nuts though. I thought the Queen Bee character (Amanda?) was brilliant. So, so bitchy.

calli335 · 07/09/2016 21:50

Funniest thing I've seen in TV for ages. Very mumsnet!

Bestthingever · 07/09/2016 21:54

Omg it was so good. I watched it with dh and he was like Hmm. I love the dad character. Was he in cuffs? I really hope this gets commissioned.

wigglesrock · 07/09/2016 22:03

I thought bits of it were funny, the Citizens Advice line was gold as was the line about taking the husbands virginity but it was a bit forced - touch of the self conscious, too cool for school but I think a lot of pilots can be like that until they hit their stride.

Besthingever yes it was Paul Ready from Cuffs. I usually really enjoy what he's in.

pennygoodlife · 07/09/2016 22:04

DH laughed and laughed and said it reminded him of what it was like to be in that world and was v glad he was at work all the time. Made me
Squirm.. So close to the truth!!'

Spottyvanswithlaces · 07/09/2016 22:09

"I loved that it was reality but stretched just a bit further."
Me too.

Bestthingever · 07/09/2016 22:10

Gosh Wiggles what a great actor. They are two very different characters. I loved the way he kept going on about sending emails. I know that type.

CuppaSarah · 07/09/2016 22:12

I love Amanda and her buddies, they're amazing. Though I definitely relate to over enthusiastic Kevin

StrawberryQuik · 07/09/2016 22:43

Loved it, especially liked the SAH dad character, very dopy and sweet like a spaniel

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 07/09/2016 23:38

I'm ten mins in, it's bilgewaterHmm

Hillfarmer · 07/09/2016 23:54

I thought it was a documentary.

YelloDraw · 07/09/2016 23:58

Absolutely hilarious!!!

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 08/09/2016 00:06

It wasn't very good. Philomela Cunk was the only one who was funny. Dh and I roared at almost all her lines but found the rest very flat and hackneyed.

Anna Maxwell Martin's character was too extreme. Just took everything a shade too far and her husband was far too young and good looking used to be the shagging office boy in The Office so is no way old enough to have a 9 year old because that would mean I am getting old.

Amanda with her "whitest house in the world" and her hangers on was just too much of a cliche.

Overall it just didn't hit the mark. Which is a shame because that is a rich seam to tap.

braceybracegirl · 08/09/2016 12:26

I thought it was hilarious. I love anything Sharon Horgan writes. Much better than Cold Feet.

pleasemothermay1 · 08/09/2016 12:28

Loved the thing with in "in" mums that's how I feel at play group very lonely indeed

Very funny spot on I not a working mum but can relate to parents not wanting to help

StickyProblem · 08/09/2016 13:49

What a pile of clichéd crap. I was really disappointed. Watch Father Ted and the IT Crowd round and round.
Seriously, adult women can't say "I'm hungry, could I have a sandwich please?" Why did she wear her coat ALL DAY, was that meant to be hilarious?

ScrumpyBetty · 08/09/2016 14:33

Brilliant 'you must give me the recipe for that omelette '

'Eggs' Grin

musicmomma · 08/09/2016 18:21

I couldn't stand the red coat hysterical woman-calm down for goodness sake!
