to be pissed at my groupmates?

We divided the parts last week. Submission is tonight.

One of our groupmates had a personal problem, so I offered to write her part. I asked her what his part is specifically and she said describe the .

I made a mistake and wrote a part that was not her part, but belonged to another person. Now I swear I did not see the file on the drive when I looked yesterday, otherwise I would not have written it because, uhm, duh, more work?

Anyway I told this person we can just delete that part of my report. And then this person goes, I finished it on Saturday, and then goes "whatever...."

I don't understand the drama. We can just delete it surely?

I kept wondering why you didnt see it on the drive, was it hidden in the bushes or something. Was it in a cardboard folder and gor rained on, or did it blow away.

And how did they know where you live?

Hardsrive. I see now.

DoreenLethal · 07/09/2016 06:24

Just delete the extra bit OP. And next time, dont do their share, thats the point of group work.

And add context. It really is everything.

Silvercatowner · 07/09/2016 07:56

Academic here. Don't do someone else's work. You wouldn't write their assignment for them, would you? Work such as this is designed to assess progress and support a student's development, you are doing that student no favours if you impede that. There will be processes and procedures to support students if they experience personal issues.

Cabrinha · 07/09/2016 08:06

Anyone else think that the first person didn't have personal problems at all, is just lazy, and that group work SUCKS?

MyKingdomForBrie · 07/09/2016 08:11

I would be a bit surprised by the 'whatever' too but I guess p2 thinks you're accusing him of not doing his share and causing you extra work.

I would just forget about it and really hope your assignment is more coherent than your MN post! Grin

CoolToned · 07/09/2016 08:33

Sorry mums, I am not usually incoherent and grammatically incorrect I swear. :D

Anyway, I just needed to blow off steam earlier. :) I guess I was frustrated because, well, I think I did a good deed and I suddenly felt like I was being attacked.

Thanks so much!

Silvercartowner - yes, but I was in a bind because the submission is near and I was not hearing anything from P1.

Cabrinha

Also, P1 was my groupmate in two subjects in the past and normally, you'd want to pry work off of her. Even during the oral report, she wanted to do everything. Even during the division of this work, she insisted to get the biggest part. She always did so in the past and always delivered.

That was why I knew something must really be wrong.

Someone said "whatever" and you're pissed off at everyone cos "drama"?

Seriously, I hope you write your essays better than you wrote this thread. And have a point to them because there isn't one here.

DeadGood · 07/09/2016 21:19

I think the reason people are having trouble following is because there's really no story here!
Onwards and upwards x

wasonthelist · 07/09/2016 21:24

How can you be pissed "at" someone?

CoolToned · 07/09/2016 21:24

Sorry I didn't give context - I just thought everyone will get that this is a uni groupwork issue and people upload their parts in a shared drive. I wrote during the heat of the moment - when I was pissed off because I didn't really think it's an issue if what I wrote spilled on the part of another person as it can be deleted in a second.

And the "whatever" was passive-aggressive.

wasonthelist

what do you mean?

OP posts:
CoolToned · 07/09/2016 21:26

wasonthelist

Oh you meant should be "pissed off at someone"

Ok sorry! But it's actually used as a slang.

CoolToned · 07/09/2016 21:27

sykadelic explained this so much better than I did. Thanks, sykadelic, that's exactly what happened!

DoreenLethal · 07/09/2016 21:43

Sorry mums

We are not all mums. Never assume anything.

CoolToned · 07/09/2016 21:47

DorrenLethal - what I meant was mums as short for mumsnetter

But sorry if that offended you! Won't do it again!
