To think ballet school shouldn't charge extra for limbering.

What do you think? DD is 10 and will do Grade 2 at some point. She does ballet and tap, but I've cancelled theatre craft and street dance as we were paying but they weren't regularly happening.
Tonight DD didn't get given her payment envelope as they wanted to see if she would do street dance again. They also tried to plug a half hour limbering lesson as it would support their ballet.
Should the limbering be part of the lesson? Is this a means to extract more money from parents or should limbering be seen as a separate activity?
If you have DC who do ballet at this age, I'd appreciate your thoughts. Thanks

The higher grades at DD's dance school do a separate class, more to do with strengthening/improving body control than stretching, but I assume it is a separate charge. But it's not at grade 2.

When I did ballet, floor barre and limbering was a separate class that, yes, was an extra charge, and this was at a professional-stream ballet school i.e. definitely no dodgy business. You do need some focussed strength and flexibility work on top of a normal class to develop effectively, and the teachers can't really be expected to do it for free.

My dd1 has the option of a 'contemporary and stretch' class, which is designed to build core strength and support her ballet. She's not done it so far, but it seems as though the girls from about Grade 1/2 who take their ballet seriously choose to do it.

Ours charge for limbering, I wouldn't expect half an hour class for free
