I know it's an annual complaint; and with old age time passes quickly, but it's so depressing to see xmas stuff on sale now. I'm still clinging on to the idea it's still summer, it is expected to be in the mid 20s next week. Do people really want to start eating winter food now?

I love mince pies. Would happily buy them all year round.

Mince pies are not just for Christmas. They are Autumn and Winter fare.

Hot cross buns seem to be on sale all year round. The seasonal baked goods space time continuum is buggered. And society is no doubt doomed.

I wouldn't mind if Creme Eggs, hot cross buns or mince pies were sold year round. My local supermarket has hot cross buns in the bakery section all year, but they're in plain cellophane and not in a box with chicks on it.

I love mince pies as much as the next person, and if they were sold in a box just like every other Mr Kipling cake that would be fine - but they are always in very festive packaging which just makes them seem so wrong in early September.

Last year I went into a shop shortly before Christmas. They were clearing shelves to load with Valentines Day stuff...

DH went to our local Co-op yesterday to get some rolls and came home with a box of their lovely mince pies for me. I really love mince pies but firstly they're something to look forward to when the nights begin to draw in and secondly if I start eating them now I'll be the size of a small country by Christmas.. They are certainly being very unreasonable.

Are they by law a seasonal product? If the store was decked out in xmas decorations however then yes i would be kicking over displays and paying with 5p coins at the till in anger Grin

My OH bought some today, either they have massively changed the recipe, or my tastes have changed, or they just don't taste right in the summer but i didn't like it.

My family brought a tin of Heros to an event last week. It had snow round it on the picture. It was a blazing not August day, made me quite depressed.

My local Asda sells own brand Smartprice ones all year round. I was ecstatic when I found out.

YABU they can sell what they want, you don't have to buy them...

YANBU about Christmas creeping in earlier and earlier but I do like a mince pie. I wonder when M&S will start because their mince pies are the bomb.

Mince pies always appear in September don't they? I was more surprised by the mini eggs in tesco TBH

I've just told DH this so no doubt he'll be popping in to the co-op this week. I had hotcross buns for breakfast this morning. Sainsburys always have them.

Ooh I love mince pies, but I refuse to eat them until december as they make me feel all festive. I don't want that feeling to come too soon as it'll fade before christmas day arrives
