to be annoyed with the Odeon cinema

Ds2 wants to go and see Swallows and Amazons, we thought it'd be a good after school treat for next week. School finishes at 3.25pm, the film starts at 3.30pm every day next week and is not on at the weekend.

It's a 10 screen cinema and they have screens which are not showing other films until 7pm so S&A could easily start at 4pm.

Op has a point, my local cinema puts kids films on at 3.30 on school days, none of the schools here finish before 3.20 and all are more than 10 minutes from the cinema, it's a ridiculous thing to do!

I would break ds out of last 5 mins of assembly and make it to the cinema for 3.40 ready for the film to start!
Ds missed the last 5/10 minutes of school (always assembly at that time of day ) for a term due to a weekly medical session . I could have made it by the start time without picking up early but it was a complete rush with hitting the school traffic (and him always coming out 5/10 minutes late!) was a nightmare . I spoke to school and they weren't the slightest bit bothered (doesn't make a difference to their Attendance figures or education !).
He's only a child once If you're concerned with lying then just tell the truth- really what's the worst that will happen?

If only he had just had 6 weeks off school when he could go and see it...

Our local schools finish at 3.05 and 3.15 so this would be do'able for some

Sometimes adults also like to see these type of films.
Cinemas put them on when they think they will get the most business.
