To be a bit annoyed with DF?

Baby due today and DF and step mother have said they will look after other two DC when labour happens. He lives 20 mins away and is still pretty young.

DH's family live in Ireland and I have no contact with my mother.

DF forgot he'd offered to look after them. He then seemed a little reluctant to commit, but has since said he'd be happy to....

Today when I started having contractions he said he could come, but in a couple of hours time as step mother was going back out for breakfast and needed a lift there and back....

Luckily contractions stopped but I've just spoken to him to make sure he's contactable tonight just in case and he's asked whether DH's friend could come and watch DC until morning then he'll come and get them.

DH is really cross with DF, I'm getting a bit stressed. Aibu?

Yanbu. I think in these circumstances you are entitled to (try to) hold him to his word. Perhaps a sharp "dad, I'm in labour, you reneging on previously agreed arrangements is making me feel stressed and it's really not helping" might help him understand HIBU?

Could you drop them off now in case you go into labour properly overnight?

I didn't really want them to have to stay there unnecessarily seeing as it appears to put them out ....

YANBU. My dad this to my brother & DH ended up driving 500 + miles that day (from a client visit in Edinburgh where he was due to stay overnight) to pick up my nephew so I could care for him. (I didn't drive then, needless to say I've learned since!)
