I work long hours , I am caring, always on time, genuinely care for my clients.
I am a care assistant.

I was initially to be paid on the 18th of each month.
then it was moved to the 26th of each month.
Then it was to be the last working day of the month.

I am still waiting for my complete pay for august (248 hours)

Last month my pay was either late or simply given in dribs and drabs.
I had to borrow money to pay my rent (I live alone)

My employer makes excuses
"i haven't been paid by the council
"i didn't know other employees haven't been paid"

I am living hand to mouth as it is, I am in despair for the last two days, desperate for full payment of my hard earned salary, yet it is not forthcoming.

I must ensure my car Insurance isn't cancelled as I need my car for visiting my clients.

Last month I was forced to ask my nan who is a pensioner to lend me the funds as my rent was due but I hadn't received my full wages, yet again.

Needless to say I am on Zero hours contract, I just don't know what I can do to keep my head above water.

No one cares.

My Employer doesn't care.
He drives his status car around yet his workforce are in despair.

I feel like just giving up.

But I battled through a dysfunctional childhood, to be the mature Independent person I am today.

But AIBU in believing/expecting my Employer to pay my salary on a regular basis each month?

Hi AdaLovelacesCat for your very usefully input of you had read I have been accepted for a new job waiting for DBS cert to come in mean time I have job searched, signed with agencies. Doing my best. It's not as black and white as you may think. If you read every page I was looking for help when all this started a month ago, when I had no where to turn and no idea where to start. I hope you never need help or advise like I did and post stupid shit on here! Think before you speak or in this case read before you write!
Thank you

Lushlolly I have been in all kinds of shitty situations over the years, and one thing that I have learnt, is do not put up with a boss that is not paying you.
It really is that simple.
Employer = works hard for boss
Boss = pays the employer
If either of things are not happening then the other party needs to terminate the arrangement.
Sorry but people who just like to whine and whine about ridiculous situations just annoy me.
Leave now. You will have more time to job hunt and you will not feel like shit.

Ada, have you actually read the thread?

Or are you just spouting words of wisdom from a position of total ignorance?

Pilgit · 24/09/2016 22:47

Have you contacted the council and the CQC? This is an appalling way for a company paid from the public purse to act and they should take action over it. I have no practical advice - this is a truly shitty situation that no one in 2016 should be in. It is an absolute scandal. You could try writing to your MP. They may be able to put pressure on - it at least highlights the scandal mod zero hours contracts

As I said I have been accepted into new job just waiting for my check to come through, I am not just moaning I left the company 3 weeks ago, I came here for advise after things with the employer have taken a dark turn, I am taking this further then people think as I believe her should be banned as a care company owner or worker. I am doing. Everything in my power to keep moving forward. I know know what I am doing and where I'm going but at 25 and never having this you can imagine it's a mind spin as to were to start and with no one but a 70year old to turn to advise with her own trouble I hope you can appreciate that it isn't as simple as just getting another job. As I said if you had read from
The start to the end you would understand

I am sorry Lushlolly, I read the first and last pages. I wish you all the best, and good luck for the future.
