Dh and his flamboyant bin bag buggerations

HoneyDragon · 31/08/2016 18:29

Dh is a flamboyant bin bag flapper. I suspect it's done as a passive aggressive demonstration of how one is meant to create space in the bin rather than rely on dropping the rubbish over the bin.

However part of his flamboyant routine is extra flap page around the edges of the bin, lifting the bin handle the carefully placing it over the edge.

This means that when you lift and tie the bin unless you remember to I tuck the fucker you end up tying the handle in the bin rendering the bin bag stuck until you untie and release.

Which gives me the raging hab dabs Angry

So I have to endure the faffing of the bin bag akin to Rowan Atkinson gift wrapping your Mistresses jewellery and to add insult to injury undo the fucking up of the original faffing of its application.

AIBU to hide the bin bags from him?

Surely the flappy handle is supposed to keep the sides down? Can he be responsible for emptying it as well as putting the new bags in?

LineyReborn · 31/08/2016 19:17

Oh I get it now.

I preferred it when I didn't.

whywonthedgehogssharethehedge · 31/08/2016 19:18

His permanent new job is bin emptying. Problem solved.

CheshireDing · 31/08/2016 19:19

YABU. I'm with your DH. Photo 2 is nearly correct, that's how I do it but there wouldn't be any bag hanging over the edge, tut tut, messy Grin

Am off to sort bins now.

HoneyDragon · 31/08/2016 19:20

Photo 2 is wrong. No clamping is necessary. There is a clamp all around the edges anyway.

Why would you do that?!?!?!

YANBU. We had a bin with a similar handle set-up. Fortunately (?) it gave us both the rage so we palmed it off on my parents who were delighted with their new fancy chrome bin. It lasted about 6 weeks with them until my DM announced that she couldn't be doing with the faffing involved in sorting the handle out. This from a champion faffer.

Get a new bin and save your sanity.

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 31/08/2016 19:23

I don't think I've ever emptied our household bin.

SaggyNaggy · 31/08/2016 19:25

Whats wrpwrpong with tying a black bag to a cupboard handle and saving he angst of posh bins?
I used to use Kwik save carriers but Kwik save fucked up and carriers cost 5 blooming p nowadays.....
Grr umph...

ExcuseMyEyebrows · 31/08/2016 19:26

I knew this would be a HoneyDragon thread Grin

HoneyDragon · 31/08/2016 19:36

But it's a posh fitted bin. So we have to use it.

Hullygullys food lives in the old kitchen bin now.

OP posts:
vindscreenviper · 31/08/2016 19:41

Is it possible to remove the handle and get rid before DH notices?

poorbuthappy · 31/08/2016 19:46

I'm trying to work out if you're my sister in law as you have a very similar set up...

HoneyDragon · 31/08/2016 19:50

I also thought this would be a Honeydragon special before I even clicked on it.

I feel a bit sorry for Mr Honeydragon. Wasn't he the protagonist in the spooneyfucker thread? The poor chap is brow beaten. Brow beaten I tell ye.

JellyBelli · 31/08/2016 20:48

Do what any self respecting person does and throw the rubbish out of the window, slightly to one side.

poorbuthappy · 31/08/2016 20:50

You could be married to my husbands brother..

HoneyDragon · 31/08/2016 21:24

I'm not your SIL my husband hadn't got a brother. Thank god or we'd have two bin flappers

OP posts:
HoneyDragon · 31/08/2016 21:25

FadedRed · 31/08/2016 22:56

HoneyDragon you're getting distracted from the one piece of useful advice in regard to your flapping DH/binbag ishoos.
Do what Vindscreenviper suggests and REMOVE THE HANDLE.

GinAndOnIt · 31/08/2016 23:05

I'd do it like pic 2 too, so you can lift bin out and take bin bag out without fiddling in the small space Blush

HoneyDragon · 31/08/2016 23:20

But but but but what if there's a legal and I need to carry all of the bin?

Dh will say those words, you know which ones....
