To be fed up with the assumption the whole world likes and drinks coffee.

Why does everyone assume you like coffee, bought a ice cream sundae with chocolate sauce nowhere does it mention coffee in it but all the chocolate sauces have coffee in them apparently, ruined a perfectly good ice cream sundae. So many times I read stupid memes about coffee as if the whole world loves it, it is so not true.

I can not stand coffee (I have tried) but I still make sure I have it in the house for guests even bought a coffee maker for my husband.

YANBU.

Coffee is the devil's piss. And coffee and walnut cake is an abomination fit only for hurling at passing trolls (Scandinavian not MN variety).

I don't drink coffee or tea and have now got used to having to carry my own water bottle to any meetings-with-refreshments I attend here, because it is apparently beyond the wit of any meeting organiser to think that people may want to have the choice of water.

I feel your pain. I hate coffee. I hate the smell and everything about it. You are not alone Grin

HateSummer · 31/08/2016 14:22

I can't drink coffee unless it has about 3 teaspoons of sugar in it and loads of milk. I don't get how people drink black coffee? Bleugh. I do like a mocha though...with sugar.

MrsJoeyMaynard · 31/08/2016 14:31

I didn't realise chocolate sauce normally had coffee in it? I'd be cross if I ordered a dessert with chocolate sauce and could taste coffee in it when they hadn't bothered mentioning it on the menu.

So YANBU.

I love the smell of coffee, but it tastes vile. Tea every time here.

PuppyMonkey · 31/08/2016 14:38

I hate it when people say "Ooh, we'll have to meet up for coffee."

No we won't ever be doing that. Tea all the way.

Crazycatladyloz82 · 31/08/2016 14:39

I hate coffee and so does my stomach. I have had many a nice meal ruined due to ordering a dessert that has coffee in it and it isn't listed on the menu. One spoon is enough to make me sick and give me awful stomach cramps.

BikeGeek · 31/08/2016 15:22

YANBU
I love coffee now but still remember the disappointment as a child when the chocolate sundae we begged my parents for actually turned out to be mocha

CantChoose · 31/08/2016 16:01

A tiny bit of coffee in anything with chocolate brings out the flavour of the chocolate, supposedly.
Most people don't notice but I guess if you hate coffee you would!

quasibex · 31/08/2016 16:25

YANBU coffee tastes and smells awful. I get that other people worship the altar it's roasted on but please keep it away from me.

If someone polluted my chocolate (cake, sauce, bar etc) with coffee I'd be furious and would refuse to pay for said item (unless it was clearly marked as containing coffee in which case I'd be furious at myself for being complacent).

I agree OP. I can sniff coffee out like a bloodhound and I can't stand it.

'oh you won't taste the coffee in it'

Yes I will. Every single time.
Can't stand tea either.
