Dh has gone back to work today and ds is in nursery. And it's just me and dd who is 7 days old. I am still recovering from the birth and stitches and just generally worried I will struggle.
Anyone else in a similar situation today?

Not today, but I remember how terrified I was when DH went back to work.
He's in the forces and deployed overseas when Dd was almost 3 weeks old. As other posters have said, don't be afraid to ask for help! Even if that help is just inviting a friend round for a coffee to break up the day and speak to another adult!
I'm due to have DC2 later this year, Dd will be 17 months old and I'm even more scared this time, as my Dd is a veerrrry energetic toddler Confused

Get in a week's worth of ready meals for the dinners. I didn't cook a full meal until DS was several weeks old, and even then it took literally all day. With any luck you will have a baby that sleeps, mind!

Hello! My husband went back to work on Tuesday but he had 4 weeks off so not quite the same situation as physically I'm now recovered from the birth. I was very worried about him going back but this is my third day now and we're getting on fine Smile

Things that have helped are; making my lunch the night before and leaving in fridge, looking out my clothes and hanging them up ready to wear, only tidying up any mess I've made, big clean can wait until the weekend like when I was at work, go out for a walk if baby is crying (although you might not be fit for this yet), my husband makes the dinner like he did before anyway.

It's such a shame that you've only had a week with him at home, I found the first two weeks a real struggle even with two of us. I had a terrible birth and physically felt awful, we were struggling with bf (now exclusively pumping) and I cried everytime my baby cried. By week 3 I felt soo much better.

I like the hoover idea lol thank you rogue I think I am going to alter my shop this weekend to allow for a quick meal. Today I have had a bagel with peanut butter, ham salad sandwich and a banana so much better than yesterday but I have had a few too many colas, will try better again tomorrow.
