being. Someone actually yelled Jess in the street the other day, and I turned around! Too much MN?!

I can only ever imagine Portia as Portia - I'm half curious, and half don't want to know!

carb. Am thinking of a couple of my friends the same age - both have 'gender neutral' names ( the shortened versions, anyway)

PortiaCastis · 31/08/2016 13:23

So fucking angry, cannot make any quips or anything but please read and I'll be back later

Anyone want to guess my name?

PortiaCastis · 31/08/2016 13:25

Gran knew the hero

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 31/08/2016 13:26

Hmm... Is it a common name Red?

OP posts:
RedOnHerHedd · 31/08/2016 13:34

That's awful Portia! If it was stored in a facility with multiple layers of security, then surely someone on the inside must've taken it?

No, my name isn't terribly common, I've only met a few others. It was also the name of my great grandmother.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 31/08/2016 13:36

Hmm... So is it an old fashioned name?

OP posts:
ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 31/08/2016 13:37

Hmmm, red.....give us a letter..

portia. How bloody awful, am inclined to agree with red as to an inside job.

Bettercallsaul1 · 31/08/2016 13:45

I like guessing names! . Who are we doing - Red?

RedOnHerHedd · 31/08/2016 13:46

I don't think it's old fashioned just over 1000 babies were named my name in 2014 in England/Wales.

Bettercallsaul1 · 31/08/2016 13:47

Being Just read your list of names! Mine is there too!

Bettercallsaul1 · 31/08/2016 13:48

And my DD's! Grin

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 31/08/2016 13:49

better. Only being knows if we have the same name....

red. Am thinking Charlotte/Emily.

RedOnHerHedd · 31/08/2016 13:49

I reckon you're all Sarah's. I'm not any of Beings list.

AverageGayLad · 31/08/2016 13:50

I remember Umbongo's without looking at the thread Grin

Do you remember my name? My first name is quite unique, middle name 1 is common, the spelling of middle name 2 is unique and I love my last name.

I don't want to know yours, you're JESS and PORTIA and so on to me Grin

Bettercallsaul1 · 31/08/2016 13:50

I want to guess your name. Red. How many syllables?

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 31/08/2016 13:53

red Wink

But I am Jess, of course...

RedOnHerHedd · 31/08/2016 13:55

2 syllables
And it's grammatically "special".

Bettercallsaul1 · 31/08/2016 13:56

Is it a Shakespearean name, Red? For example: Imogen, Emilia, Jessica, Portia, Cordelia, Miranda etc?

RedOnHerHedd · 31/08/2016 13:56

You'll always be Jess, Jess.

RedOnHerHedd · 31/08/2016 13:58

No, none of those Better. I don't think it's used in any of Shakespeare's works, but I'll double check now.

Bettercallsaul1 · 31/08/2016 13:58

"Grammatically special" sounds very intriguing!

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 31/08/2016 13:59

red. Anna or Hannah?
