Did your baby wear a cardigan today?

My IL's have popped over at least once a week since my DD was born to incessantly to ask me the same questions over and over again in an accusational tone of voice.

One of these is "Is she cold?"

It was 26+ degrees today. My DD sweats to the point of having wet hair and vest, even when it's very mild. She was in a vest and little bottoms. SIL said why wasn't she wearing a cardigan as "she might be cold" DD is 6 months old and very large and robust.

So, can I ask if your baby wore a cardigan today? Or AIBU?

I swear to God I saw a 6-ish month old baby in a pushchair, with the footmuff on, wearing a KNITTED WOOLLY BOBBLE HAT a couple of days ago. It was 3pm on one of the hottest days of the year.
Shock

No my ds is 8 months and hasn't worn a Cardigan in months.

I do get asked daily though why he isn't wearing socks and shoes!

A cardigan is a garment you wear when your Grandmother feels the cold.... Grin

Nope - was stripped off and in hos paddling pool. It was all we could do to get a nappy on him and a t-shirt when he wasn't in his pool.

My 8 month old is like a little furnace, always has been. Today she wore a sleeveless dress with no tights. We have masses of knitwear that we've been given and she's never worn any of it.

No mine wears a short sleeved babygro and nothing else most days. She hates being too hot and if I put the same amount of clothes on her as I do on me she goes bright red, sweats and cries.

My week old is in a light cardi but he was cold

How shocking. What! no sheepskin liberty bodice! (I bet most of you have never heard of them) Grin

My dad still asks my girls where their jumpers are (they're 12 and 16 Grin) and never seems to quite believe them when they tell him that as its 28 outside, they're not cold!

RubyReins · 28/08/2016 14:40

Bewty - aye he's fine. A touch of hyperbole as to how cold it is here!

At the end of the day, you know your baby! Some people just can't help themselves around babies; they instantly declare themselves an expert and have to question/criticise SOMETHING, rather than just enjoy time with you and your baby. You know what's right for your baby.
