To think "well, no shit" about the fact that these dolls didn't work?

Apparently, life-like dolls which cry to be fed and changed are not putting teenagers off getting pregnant like they were supposed to. I just think it's insane that anyone ever thought the stress of having a child could be simulated by a piece of plastic that wakes you up. Surely it's the overwhelming feelings of total responsibility for a living being, anxiety, uncertainty and out of control future that is hard about children. Not having to change nappies in the night. I think if I'd have been given one of these as a teen it would have been more likely to make me think "yep, I can do this", in the same way that babysitting and having younger siblings did.

We used to have these for the health and social care students in our college. I once babysat 6 of them at once but would never look after 6 rl babies at once and that's after working in nurseries and creches!
