To wish away the school holidays ?

I've enjoyed the time off with my twins but the holidays are killing me!

I have ME and I'm so so exhausted ; I'm barely getting to lunch time before I'm spent for the day .

Then I feel awfully guilty for not having the energy to do things with them.

Lovely weather today and we went out this morning . They've spent the rest of the afternoon playing with their castle and knights whilst I dozed on the couch Blush

I've also got a raging ME induced sore throat.

I feel awful , run down , guilty .

We're also running low on money thanks to the school holiday expense too !

We spend nowhere near as much when in the school routine .

Anyone else feeling the same?

Yanbu at all, I don't have ME but it's zapping the lifeblood out of me, roll on school and 🍺🍹🍸🍸

I have fibro and have found it hard. It's easier now they are 16 and 13. Try and sort some down time for yourself in the day x

I also have fibro and the first two weeks were hard but the kids are getting into the holiday groove and quite happy to slob around. Hope you feel better. X

YANBU - I don't have ME, but do have eleven weeks of summer holiday to fill (in the US). I am really ready for them both to be back at school!

I can not wait for my older 2, 6 and 7, to go back, they can't sit still for 2 minutes so they always want to be doing something and it's drained me. But I'm also super nervous as its my elder daughters first year at school!!

It sounds like you need to call on friends for support to give yourself the opportunity to rest. I find the holidays a lot less work than term time to be honest - enjoy the lack of structure that dictates our every move during term time. If i had a friend who I knew had ME I would be offering to help out with days out or having her dc's (or certainly the one that was friends with my dc) over to play. Is there anyone you could call on to give you a day off? I know you are managing a rest while they amuse themselves, but that's not as recuperative as a guilt-free proper sleep that you know won't be disturbed. Remember too that it's great for them to hang out at home and play - they are put under such pressure in scool with assessments etc that having no structure is the best part of the holidays I reckon.
