Hi all,

First post after lurking about and reading threads for a long time desperately hoping to be a mother.

We have been TTC for 2 years now. I did a pg test about an hour ago and have Boone to discuss this with! DH is away for work overnight and I don't want him to be distracted as he has a busy evening with clients and needs to be on his game. My parents and family have lived this struggle with me and I don't want to get their hopes up just in case.

This comes after my 5th cycle of clomid and I can't quite believe what I'm seeing.

My question is: what happens next following a BFP after clomid? I assume I'm just discharged from the fertility dept of the hospital? My specialist mentioned a 7 week scan but I guess that's with maternity?

Secondly and I guess this is my aibu..is it appropriate to send flowers to my specialist to thank her (as if I ever could thank her enough) for her help over the last 9 months or so of treatment. She is an absolute hero in my eyes and I just want her to know that we are so grateful. I really always got the impression that she went above and beyond consistently. Would it be jumping the gun to send these soon?! Or if at all? I've never received hospital treatment before all this so I'm not sure if id look like a weirdo for doing this. Grin

I'll stop as I've started rambling but I'm just knocked for six in the best possible way and can't believe this May finally have happened for us.

Hugest congratulations! Smile what lovely news. I wrote a card and gave it with a box of chocolates after our early scan at the fertility clinic. I don't think it's inappropriate at all and fully understand why you want to try and convey your thanks.

Enjoy telling your dh!

Thanks Hawaiibaby, I agree, I feel like I need her to know how appreciated her work has been.

Jellybelli that's really nice. I'll def send something after our first scan if we make it that far.

I think the flowers would be lovely, but you know what might be an alternative is to come in with a handwritten thank you card and a single flower, and a note saying that you've made a donation to a relevant charity (such as a child services charity, or one the physician supports) in the physician's name by way of a thank you (in the amount you would've spent for flowers).

And a donuts or a fruit plate for the staff!

Congratulations!!!!!
I work for hospital consultants and they love getting thank you cards. It's a real boost to receive thanks for a job well done.
