to think we can get out of the house without one fight or tantrum?!

Jesus wept.

Have just given up going to the shop to get ingredients for baking (which the DCs are excited about) as too much shouting, fighting, tantrums over putting shoes on etc.

It would also be nice to be able to go to the toilet occasionally without WW3 breaking out.

My poor neighbours must hear me shout "stop fighting!" at the top of my lungs, from the toilet, several times a day!

(If you are reading this, neighbours, I am sorry!)

Leaving everyone to calm down a bit, then am going to try again. I would say forget it entirely, but I need to get out of the house for a bit of sanity!

Seriously though I'm getting to the stage now where Iv truly had enough. They've had all my money. All my patience and all my energy. I'm also getting bored and want the old routines back. Doesn't help that I also feel a real urge to be working again. Been sahm for nearly three years now ....... Just need more now I think if that makes sense.

6 weeks 'holidays'. LOL. 6 weeks of stress, shouting, fighting and me left feeling like I would rather cut off my own ear with a rusty cleaver than listen to ANOTHER 'muuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmy!!!' more like. Pfft. Humbug

Bogglem · 23/08/2016 16:06

I'm a teacher and even I can't wait for the holidays to be over!
Have 2 DD (2 and 9) and 1 DSD (10) and only have the two eldest half the time due to shared custody, yet still feel like I'm going insane!

At least other people's children listen to me Grin

I always say I'm going to change my name then I realise I'd get sick off hearing that too. My biggest stress is when we talk to each other when in different rooms or even different floors. Drives me insane !

When dh gets home I'm like a broken woman ......... Sorry to keep posting I'm on a bloody roll

SparklyStarShit · 23/08/2016 16:11

Oh but it won't stop when you're working...
I've tried club after club. They don't like any of them. Every morning I have a whinge fest about hating club, refusing to go etc etc

Today DS 10 had an almighty strop about me being 'late' on pick up. I lied to him apparently. In the car park he had a MASSIVE strop and threw a full bottle of water at dd 12 hitting on the shoulder. I was speechless. I immediately grounded him which sent him in a panic. When I didn't back down, He proceeded to kick the bush and call me stupid. Full on crying fit

I ignored him got in car, pulled round and growled out the window 'get in the car' as people were walking past

Only just coming down from it now. And thinking wine o'clock is too far away

HornyTortoise · 23/08/2016 16:15

I really do think I need to take up drinking wine. It seems to help everyone else cope much better. Also its gotta be better for me than necking half a bottle of malibu straight the other night after a particularly stressful bedtime and my pain issue flaring up. Malibu works better than most painkillers...including oral morphine, I have realized. Tempted to tell the doc I will self medicate from now on Grin

I've had a few years where on many occasions I've really missed the days when I could just lift mine up, fling 'em in the pushchair and head out, even if they were wailing and tantrumming. However, we're now in a patch where I can at least leave them in the house, each glued to a screen and ignoring each other, for an hour or so so that I can nip out to do essential errands in peace. It's ridiculously liberating.

It's even harder getting them out of the house now than last year though, due mostly to dithering on DD's part about which clothes/shoes she wants to wear, on top of the bickering. Hmm
