My DD's spoilt best friend (6) receives a Barbie doll for each lost tooth.

(I have verified with parents, and yes, it's true).

Is this a thing now? We got 20p, in my day.

Every time DD loses a tooth I think "shit, I hope I've got some change in my purse".

We do a £2 coin for the first tooth and £1 coin for the rest. Although some of my daughters friends get a lot more.

Although they got tiny presents when they lost teeth in the US (a Disney pin for DS as we were in Florida and a Lego figure for DD as we were at Legoland California) - mainly because the 'shiny coins' we had weren't high enough in value.
