To think I am being fobbed off?

Hi,

I have been back and forth from the Doctors for months and have had loads of standard blood tests (none of them have shown anything wrong). I am always bone tired, have achy joints and have a constant sore throat.

Today I have just been diagnosed with "systemic exertion intolerance disease". The doctor gave be a pack of leaflets and the offer of antidepressants which I declined. When I got home and read the leaflets this is now the new name for M.E. and it is a case of nothing can be done and in most cases it goes on its own.

A.I.B.U. to think that I am being fobbed off with a "named illness" and offer antidepressants because they think that it is all in my head when I truly feel ill all of the time?

The NHS are curently conducting a 12 month trial to validate the findings of Dr Perrin diagnosis of ME/CFS.
The Perrin Technique works on the manual manipulation of the lymphatic system to eradicate toxins that have built up over many years.
These toxins produce the horrendous effects that people with ME/CFS experience.
There are Perrin practitioners worldwide, to find the nearest to where you are visit www.theperrinclinic.com

I know where you are coming from.
Unless I present myself at my GP already pretty much knowing I have an infection and need an antibiotic, he'll offer me antidepressants. Hmm

Last time around I went to ask for bloods, having horrible perimenopause symptoms and palpitations so wanted my thyroid checked. Yes, he offered me antidepressants. I'm not depressed.
My hormones have gone nuts.

I've come to the conclusion that he's simply a GP and the 'general' part of that is the important word. If I want to get the the root of something I'll pay to see someone privately because my GP is all about the bandaging and not about finding out why or tackling the why.

Get a new GP!

That's really interesting living, thank you. I've got a practitioner 6 miles from me, so I'll definitely bear that in mind if/when I get a confirmed diagnosis.
