To describe DM as "a bit 'Good Housekeeping'l ?

In our family 'this long been customary to describe people in terms of retail brands to ourselves.
We say e.g "she's a bit Primark" I'll leave to to make an educated guess st the connotation.

I said to my mum recently that if she were personified in a brand she would be the magazine "Good Housekeeping".

This was met by a slightly disapproving look and a raised eyebrow.

Incidentally , I've been reading 'Woman's Own' since the age of 16 and not even in a postmodern/ironic way so Lord knows how people would classify me!!

Well, if you are Lila Moss and your mum is Kate Moss, then that might be seen as a bit cheeky. It's not exactly a glamorous brand, but I love GH and wouldn't be devastated if I ended up with that name attached, rather than, say, Saga.

I agree celeste although I'd go with a fraction younger for the readership / mid/late 40s start through to 60s ?
