New neighbour from May is now selling up

I posted another thread in May (don't know how to link it?) about my neighbour complaining about our music noise after he'd only been in the property 5 days. We don't play a lot of loud music so we were very surprised when he knocked on the door.

He's just had the house totally redecorated and recarpeted and it's now up for sale for £12k more than he paid. Pictures on Rightmove show very sparse furnishings inside.

I'm perplexed and my OH says I'm becoming mildly obsessed with finding out why he's selling. Can't see that he will make much profit really. I've been very conscious of having ANY music on when he's in and am constantly telling my kids to be quiet!

Hoping a nice large noisy family move in now! This street isn't really suitable for a single bloke - especially one that doesn't like noise!

I don't think anyone has asked the most important question......what music were you playing when he complained?!

Wildheart In the frozen north-east of England, just before you get to Scotland. This was a quarter of a century ago, but even then we didn't know how he did it. We think he had a friend on the council. He also kept getting "No ball games" notices put, and then somebody else would ring up and demand that they were taken down. They went up and down half a dozen times before they stayed down.

to others who have commented Sorry if I have hi-jacked a thread - I was thinking it was about intolerance of young children and the accompanying noise etc. Wasn't meaning to get off point. Have some Cake

If he's only getting £12k more than he paid I wouldn't think he'd have much left at all after estate agent's cut and solicitor's fees. And depending on local prices, maybe nothing, or a loss.

People move house for all sorts of reasons. I have sold houses within months of buying them twice in the past, once because my marriage ended and once because my job relocated. It never occurred to me to tell my nosy neighbours why I was moving though

I would be surprised if a single guy moved into a noisy street if they found noise an issue! My in-laws visited their new houses at different times of day to check out noise etc... Can't say I've bothered, but if you are worried about specific things like noisy neighbours then buy a detached....
I would be nosy about why he is selling also, hey you are only human...not really sure why your curiosity warrants barbed replies....Good Luck! :0)

Why are you bothered?

You sound like a nebby fucking nightmare TBH.
