[_] right here.

I am fucking exhausted. DS has been waking at 5am for the last 2 weeks, often going back to sleep once one of us have got on the sofa bed with him.

I went to bed at 10. I slept til 530 am when DS woke up. DH had slept downstairs on the sofa bed with him, DS went back to sleep til 7am. I am exhausted and just want to sleep :(

Ywbu not to go and have a nap.

Exhaustion is a bitch. If you have time to have a sleep, do it.

I'm at work though NN The training room, and it's huge table are looking very appealing - which shows how fucking knackered I am Sad

How long before home time? Can you find some coffee to drink

cjt110 · 05/08/2016 12:12

5pm so just under 5 hours.

Have had coffee. No joy. Am feeling even more sleepy!

Fan blowing on you to stay awake?

Windows are open with a breeze. Have the radio on too.

I feel the same. When I woke up this morning, before work, I was planning on how I was going to finish at 4pm get home and just SLEEP. We had a 1 hour meeting and I was struggling to keep my eyes open.

NapQueen · 05/08/2016 13:29

Is he on a sofa bed all night?

How old is he?

cjt110 · 05/08/2016 14:09

No NapQueen He is in his cot. We have previously tried sides off, which was ok but his wake ups because more frequent. He's 2 next week.

Sorry to be an unsympathetic cow but I don't see why you are so exhausted from sleeping 10pm-5.30am? That's 8.5 hours undisturbed sleep? More than enough for an average adult. My 5 month old DS is up every day at 5/5.30 too so I do understand but before I had him I was up at 6am most days for work so it's not so awful.

Me624 · 05/08/2016 14:13

Sorry 7.5 hours sleep.

WorryMcStressHead · 05/08/2016 14:16

I sort of agree... I mean, by all means have a nap if you are able - big fan of naps, me - but I'm just a bit confused as to why 5am is doing you in that much. I'm not having a go, but you get more sleep than I do and my kids are much older!

Thingmcthingyface · 05/08/2016 14:30

Go somewhere private set 10 min alarm on phone. Close eyes. If when alarm goes you feel dreadful still have 10 more mins. No one will notice. I used to do this when heavily preggers and exhausted. Those 10 mins are way more restorative than you'd expect. Plus it feels quite mad men...

cjt110 · 05/08/2016 14:38

Me624 Worry I have an underlying health condition (underactive thyroid) which may be contributing (currently trialling alternating doses) but I feel awful. I think my sleep quality is crap, regardless of the quantity I have. I have a fitbit type watch and the results of my sleep patterns are surprising. One niht, whilst it reckons I had 2h30 mins deep sleep, 4h15 light sleep and was "awake" 3 times.

OP posts:
Me624 · 05/08/2016 14:41

Oh I suspect that is definitely contributing then. Hope you get it sorted. Might be worth getting your iron levels checked too - I used to feel tired all the time and it turned out I was severely anaemic.

cjt110 · 05/08/2016 14:52

I have a check up with my GP in 6 weeks to check my thyroid levels. If all isnt well then I will be asking him to run every test possible whilst asking for a referral somewhere as I cant cope feeling this shitty.
