Discuss.

Would take half an hour, I live in London. Can't really happen but would be great...

I do this when DP has to go to work. Costs £10 for a journey of anything from 15 minutes to an hour depending on traffic.

The alternative is a ten minute walk- bus 1- 5 minute walk- bus 2- and bus 1 sometimes drives past because its full. This takes an hour usually.

People at work comment about how much it costs me, but actually the panic I used to feel every morning wondering if I'd be late to work, cost my mental health a lot more.

Also, I manage to mark books in the car and I can't do that standing on a bus !

If you can afford it, do it. Smile

Yes it's £2300 a year but presumably the other method of transport you are using isn't free. You need to work out how much you are already paying and then how much more it is for uber and see if you think it's worth the extra £.

YANBU to not want to get the tube (although I loved it, time to listen to podcasts!) but YABU to use Uber.

If it;s a tenner each way isn't it double that?

£20 per day
x 5 days a week
= £100 a week
x 46 weeks a year
=£4600

I only tend to get an Uber on my way to work in the morning. I find getting home in the evening on tube/train easier, or often I am meeting people after work so it's not a whole tube/train journey all at once. So only £10 a day for me.

Having said that, it was my last day of work yesterday. Maternity leave from here on in NO COMMUTING! Woooo hoooooooo.
