A high-protein, low-carb toast. Instead of an egg and some veggies, which the diet plan I am following is requiring.

Sigh. There is no scientific evidence whatsoever that carbs cause weight-gain or that a low-carb diet helps you lose weight.

The reason high protein/low carb diets can help some people lose weight is because having more protein makes you feel fuller. i.e. it's the high protein part of the diet which is having the desired effect.
