Would you rather eat only sweet or only savoury foods for the rest of your life?

Thought I would start a random lighthearted food thread Grin.

If you could only eat sweet foods or savoury foods for the rest of your life what would you choose and if you could only eat one savoury meal and one sweet dessert (can be fruit) what would you choose?

Mine would be: Sweet for the rest of my life.
Main meal: Spaghetti bolognese followed by creme brulee.

Savoury no doubt.

Meal? Hmmmmmm ......

I'd go for a Thali with lamb curry. Followed by pannacotta and fresh raspberries.

WyldChyld · 02/08/2016 19:58

I love sweet but I'd have to go savoury - a life without bread or steak isn't worth living.

Main would be tapas as long as I got paella! And dessert... chocolate mousse with strawberries

Ellybellyboo · 02/08/2016 20:01

Savoury

Main meal - Cottage pie and
Dessert - my Mum's steamed chocolate pudding with custard

notamummy10 · 02/08/2016 20:01

I've thought about my main meal: vegetable spaghetti (a mixture of carrot, courgette and butternut squash) bolognese, the bolognese is made with turkey mince, passata, fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, onion and red wine! Topped with parmesan and accompanied with cheesy garlic bread.

Depending on whether I'm in the mood for pudding, I'd either have a slice of lemon meringue with ice cream or a homemade chocolate brownie with ice cream and custard!

FiveMoreMinutesPlease · 02/08/2016 20:02

Savoury all the way.

I'd have to have pepperoni pizza and side salad followers by cheese and biscuits.

GrouchyKiwi · 02/08/2016 20:37

Savoury

Main meal: beef red wine casserole with baked potatoes
Dessert: profiteroles stuffed with creme brulee instead of normal cream (so I can have two desserts in one) and a dark chocolate sauce on top.

ginghamstarfish · 02/08/2016 20:42

Roast dinner and trifle

Natsku · 02/08/2016 20:45

Savoury (I once pondered this question when I was a student and was eating a packet of prawn cocktail crisps - that settled the question for me, love crisps!)

Roast pork with crackling and all the trimmings
Trifle

amusedbush · 02/08/2016 20:52

Sweet. I would rather have two desserts than a main and a dessert probably why I'm a size 16 Blush

Roast pork dinner with all the trimmings followed by my dad's homemade trifle.

littleprincesssara · 02/08/2016 21:32

Savoury!

Vegetable pizza, and something chocolatey.

PageStillNotFound404 · 02/08/2016 21:41

Savoury.

And I am the food twin of FiveMoreMinutesPlease because I'd also go for pepperoni pizza followed by cheese and biscuits.

BuggersMuddle · 02/08/2016 21:52

Savoury for sure.

This would probably change if you asked me another time, but:

Roast chicken, stuffing, Ayrshire early potatoes, British asparagus and roast parsnip (I am completely ignoring the fact these don't come into season at the same time)

A lovely mixed seasonal mixed fruit salad (if I'm going to have all that stodge)

NancyJoan · 02/08/2016 21:52

Savoury.

Cold chicken, jacket potato and salad, followed by a mix of raspberries and chopped nectarine.

SaucyJack · 02/08/2016 22:33

Savoury.

Thai green curry, followed by cheese and crackers. And gallons of pear cider.

maisiejones · 02/08/2016 22:48

Savoury - loads of cheese!

Botanicbaby · 02/08/2016 23:07

Savoury for life

Main: Meatballs & spaghetti Chicago style home made by me Grin

Dessert: Pears, dark chocolate & Cornish clotted cream ice cream.

I couldn't live without butter so have to go savoury.

Last meal would be a crusty chargrilled rare steak with a rocket and tomato salad and pommes dauphinoise. And Cabernet Sauvignon and Champagne.

I think that's Wednesday night's tea for me and DH sorted.

Liiinoo · 02/08/2016 23:20

Buggers Morrisons do plain, peeled pre-cut frozen parsnips for about £1 a kg bag. Literally cheaper than chips. They provide the perfect roasted parsnip all year round with zero prep.

BathshebaDarkstone · 02/08/2016 23:20

Savoury for the rest of my life.
Main meal: Steak and kidney pie followed by banoffee pie.

Huldra · 02/08/2016 23:30

Savoury.

Spicy lentil or chickpea dish, it has to contain lots of chilli, coriander and lemon or lime.
For pud I would say something chocolate because I am not into sweet things but when I am it may as well be chocolate. But that wpuld get too much and watermelon woukd be a better long term thing.

Can I have chips with my main rather than rice or bread? Now I can't decide what condiments I want with it.

Mycraneisfixed · 02/08/2016 23:51

Savoury. People assume fat people like me love sweet stuff but I manage to be obese on the savoury stuff.
