to refuse to trim his armpit hairs

justalittlelemondrizzle · 30/07/2016 23:00

So DH has just asked me to help him trim his armpit hairs... He can't do his right side and they're getting a bit too long for his liking Grin aibu to have said no. Would you trim your dh's armpit hairs? I've told him I will act on the basis of the replies I get on here! Haha!

I've just cut my husband's hair and plucked the odd grey hair from his brow. I've certainly trim his underarm hair if he needed me to!

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 30/07/2016 23:39

MiL once asked me to pluck a hair from her chin.

Oh. My. God.

ExtraHotLatteToGo · 30/07/2016 23:41

Of course I'd help him do something he couldn't do, I wouldn't even thnk about it. Given the required intimacy of great sex, what's cutting a few hairs?!

However, I don't like metro men - I like them very natural, so I'd remind him anything he did to change that could well alter my desire to make him very happy!

Champagneformyrealfriends · 30/07/2016 23:42

I would. Why wouldn't you? Does he have lice or something?!

BlueLeopard · 30/07/2016 23:42

I get my DP to wax my armpits. I taught him how to and he's pretty good at doing it now. He also gave me a Hollywood when I wimped out of pulling the wax strip. Did an excellent job for a novice.

So yes, I'd have no issue with helping him with body hair. He's clean and he would do it for me.

ExtraHotLatteToGo · 30/07/2016 23:45

My Ex had to try to restrain me from plucking his MAD eyebrow hairs! He had lovely eyebrows except for the stray MAD ones.

He used to let me remove his facial hair with tweezers too - very satisfying!

King. It wouldn't bother me with most people. Others I'd hate being so close and personal but the opportunity to inflict actually bodily harm would help me get past that 😁

ExtraHotLatteToGo · 30/07/2016 23:46

Blue my ex tried to help me too, but we discovered he was no more able to inflict pain on my nether regions than I was! 😁 shame my heart seemed fair game later on

AppleJac · 30/07/2016 23:47

Of course i would.

Dh shaves me quite often

BerylStreep · 30/07/2016 23:54

Yes, I do DH's pits with the trimmers all the time. I also cut his hair and trim his eyebrows and ears.

Topseyt · 30/07/2016 23:59

My DH has never asked this.

I suppose I might do it, but I would be more tempted to suggest that he shaved them.

NoobThebrave · 30/07/2016 23:59

have you considered plaits? 🤔

YolandiFuckinVisser · 31/07/2016 00:02

I had no idea men trimmed their armpit hair! I would if he asked, after I'd stopped laughing.

Rainbunny · 31/07/2016 00:22

It wouldn't bother me, in fact I pluck my dh's eyebrows every now and then - just a few random super thick, dark and long brow hairs but it makes a huge difference. I wish he'd pluck my eyebrows actually... although I'd never trust him to do properly if I'm honest!

WorraLiberty · 31/07/2016 00:33

Some do and some don't.

It's hair, it grows to different lengths depending on the person.

What's funny about it?

Paulat2112 · 31/07/2016 13:24

Yolandi, my dh armpit hair grows very fast and he doesn't like it incredibly long. I trim it with scissors for him, just take an inch or two off. I shave my armpits completely several times a week, so I don't think its funny that my dh would want to keep his in check once a month or so.

Cabrinha · 31/07/2016 13:26

If you've ever had sex with him, I think this is hardly a big deal!

PinkSquash · 31/07/2016 13:45

I had to look at exH's thrombosed pile many many years ago, shaving an armpit is nothing in comparison to the mental scarring I still have from that.

PinkSquash · 31/07/2016 13:46

Shaving? I meant trimming. The thought of the giant pile was addling my mind. Confused

StillRabbit · 31/07/2016 14:15

Why wouldn't you? I regularly pluck my DHs eyebrows, epilate his shoulders and trim a neat neck line on his beard. I don't see much difference between doing any of that and applying suncream to his back for instance.

It's not like he's asking you to give him a back, sack and crack wax!

ToastyFingers · 31/07/2016 14:29

I would, and he'd do the same for me.
Love an' all that nonsense.

coldcanary · 31/07/2016 14:37

I would too, I tidy his eyebrows for him occasionally as well. Considering he shaved my legs for me during all 3 pregnancies when I was huge and couldn't bend down that far, trimming his body hair every so often is the least I can do!

EastMidsMummy · 31/07/2016 14:41

I think I may vomit.

Andylion · 31/07/2016 16:16

He can't do his right side?
Has he had a stroke?

Maybe he's right-handed? I shave my armpits, (both sides Grin ) but if I ever tried to use a trimmer or manicure scissors with my left hand, I'd be useless.

RaspberryOverload · 31/07/2016 16:29

I guess I would, if DP ever decided to do this he won't

He's helped me on a couple of occasions. But I think I'd draw the link at pile-checking. Grin

footballwidow12 · 31/07/2016 16:34

I don't think it's any more unreasonable than my Dh asking me to shave his hairy back (which I did last night FYI) Wink
