Oh Jeez I must be the hard of thinking I've only had a few replies to my threads but then again I probably post shite. My shite is true and does stink though. I posted dumb replies last night but that was because of the tonic not the gin I swear.

The woman on the 'Paddling Pool' thread was a total twat. Goady fucker I expect.

MN used to be largely Benign Neglect Of Children. Perfect. It's changed so much to this Cottonwool Parenting of Special Snowflakes. I feel so 'out of step'. 12 year olds that can't be left at home for an hour, 17 year olds that aren't allowed to open the door to strangers...parents who have 10 year olds that 'wont' do xyz... It's all so arghhhhh

I have had to try to retrain myself re emojis though. We use them a lot on the other site I post on, I like them. But I also like MN being less 'colourful' so I'm trying REALLY hard not to use them.

It seems unbelievable now that you used to be able to have a REALLY good debate on MN, with intelligent, well written posts - it did used to get quite fierce and we would call each other out. It wasn't for the faint hearted, but it was good. We'd then chat happily on other threads.
