That I am not supper nanny

You only see the edit version of most people children so it's often tempting to think your children are monsters and eveyone else's child is lovey

Teenagers are no fun and can be mostly Dickish and I wasn't expecting that tbh
I thought we be at lunch together mostly we argue about why he has a bottle of wee under his bed😷😳and why he feels at 16 he knows far more than I do at 34

3 children is most likey 1 to many for my skill set😁bit late now though

That I don't love my son as much as I think I should. I dont get that burst of love. Never have. But I'd fight tooth and nail for him.

That my husband makes a great Dad and support.

That being a parent can be divisive.

That it brings out the worst in me.

Muskey · 29/07/2016 16:07

Everything you do is wrong in somebody's eyes. Therefore don't pay attention and do your best

bookbook · 29/07/2016 16:16

That you are always a mother.
My 2 are grown and flown, but if a child shouts 'mum' or "mummy', my head still whips around....
That my DM was right - love them, feed them, listen to them, let them fly. They will always come back :)

Onlytimewilltell · 29/07/2016 16:20

That everyone puts on a front and pretends everything is fine ( even before the invention of Facebook), but really most people go through the same shit with their kids and if you open up about how hard you find something, they will too.
except possibly on mumsnet

Choose your battles wisely.

Expect the unexpected.

You're the most important person in the world (negating the teen years obvs) Smile

Being a nana is brilliant Smile

ShtoppenDerFloppen · 29/07/2016 16:33

That as a parent, you can endure more than you could have ever imagined - but it will change you in ways you never though possible.

SalemsLott · 29/07/2016 16:34

Nanna Blush

That watching a five year old poo can be very entertaining.

MyPeriodFeatures · 29/07/2016 17:30

That almost absolutely anything can be cleaned with a wet wipe.

TooGood2BeFalse · 29/07/2016 18:08

That parenting is NOTHING like you see on the Pampers adds or TV and I am not the Mary Popping I thought I'd be.

But I also didn't know that cold hearted moi would burst into tears and sob loudly at my 4 year old''s first Christmas nursery show. He was an elf, and his only job was to jump up and down and smile but it was the most wonderful thing I've ever seen and he did.it beautifully Blush

TooGood2BeFalse · 29/07/2016 18:09

Poppins...sorry for typos ...currently lying on said four year old's floor pretending to sleep whilst hoping the newborn doesn't wake up yet...

Fomalhaut · 29/07/2016 18:15

That it's much much harder than I thought it would be
That sleep deprivation for months on end makes you borderline mad
That some days are just ... Tough
But also that the love I feel for ds is infinite, that I'm a lot more patient than I thought I was
How magical it is to see them develop

footballwidow12 · 29/07/2016 18:48

That it is HARD!!!! All of it!!!!
That I will never ever love anyone more than I love my DD.
That you feel guilty about EVERYTHING....going out, going to work, leaving her, having or not having another child.
That it completely and utterly changes your whole life (even though you swear that it won't)

Alisvolatpropiis · 29/07/2016 19:42

That I'd be exactly the same person after having the baby as I was before just slightly softer emotionally and with a wonderful little person in tow. Perhaps it's because most of my friends don't have children yet or because she is a good sleeper with a sunny temperament. Both?
