To be boggled and infuriated by people going to the gym who park in the disabled bays?

FFS you are going to work-out, you have no blue badge on display, why then do you feel you need to park as close to the door as possible to save yourself the walk?? Grrrrrrr

Couldn't agree more. I am disabled and sometimes have to park on the far side of the carpark due to these selfish gits. Sadly the management don't react very strongly so there is no real disincentive.

We also have elderly people who make their own version of a disabled badge . Why not just apply for one if you feel you deserve one?

Some people probably think that disabled people can't use a gym, so they can park there. Same as some people think it's ok to park in disabled bays at night, because of course disabled people aren't allowed at night.

I thought the whole idea of going to a gym was for exercise so why do they to park so ruddy close to it. Park further away and feel those legs burn.

I wish they'd bring in fines for parking in disabled bays :(

I was about to get on my high horse then...

My mum goes to the gym and uses the disabled parking bays but she does have a blue badge - she has fibromyalgia, problems with various joints and severe muscle wastage. She is under a specialist pt who goes through various gentle exercises with her with an aim to keeping her more active for longer. It's great for her not just physically but socially too.

But obviously I realise you mean non-blue badge holders, which I agree is ridiculous. (I also have a petty bug bear about my neighbour who drives to the gym - 20 minutes walk away - then walks on the treadmill. I know, I know, my problem, not his and I'm just as guilty of fannying about with equipment rather than doing a proper workout...but still!)

I think the gym but is irrelevant as obviously disable people use gyms too. No body should be parking in a disable bay without a badge wherever it is.

If they are sure they aren't blue badge holders then yes yanbu.

But remember it is possible to be disabled yet still be able to do some forms of exercise - I had a terrible knee injury That meant I could barely walk, but I love swimming so used to go and swim arms only for months (I put a float between my legs)
