Was planning on using Creme fraiche but only have a tiny bit left. Really CBA to do a proper white sauce- mine never work anyway. Would IBU to use Greek yoghurt, feel like this and Creme fraiche are essentially the same thing?

It'll be fine.

I bloody love yogurt.

SouperSal · 25/07/2016 19:53

Jamie Oliver uses double cream with cheese if that helps.

EsmeraldaEllaBella · 25/07/2016 19:54

I would Smile

MollyRedskirts · 25/07/2016 19:57

I've done it with yogurt, quark, fromage frais...

BikeRunSki · 25/07/2016 19:57

I would. Might add a bit of flour to stabilise it.

Yup, will be fine. I always use yoghurt/creme fraiche/sour cream/philadelphia interchangably when i cba to go shopping!

FoxesOnSocks · 25/07/2016 20:01

I find there's still that Greek yogurt taste off it, how tiny is the tiny bit of creme frais? Enough to mix?

Acunningruse · 25/07/2016 20:30

Thanks all, used a bit of everything, Creme fraiche, Greek yoghurt, double cream, soft cheese...in the oven now so will report back..

Yeah it'll be fine. I used it in cauliflower cheese yesterday when I discovered the milk was off.

YANBU at all. However, don't do what my friend did when he invited me round for a homemade curry one time. I mentioned the unusual flavour that I couldn't quite place in amongst the vegetables, spices, etc. "Oh yes," he replied. "The recipe said plain yoghurt but I only had fruits of the forest so I used that instead."

Acunningruse · 27/07/2016 08:53

Grin Tlentifini no it was absolutely fine, will definitely do the same again.
