I am only 12 so I have used my mums name to find out why she is cross. She said I should ask.

We had been on the beach all day. Well since after lunch as I didn't get up very early. Then it was my sister nap time.

We played on the sand and in the see.
I even played with my sister a bit when she wasn't grumpy.

It got to tea time and my sister wanted to go back and get changed as the wind was making the sand dry and going in our faces.
I wanted to finish my game as I had spent ages building the track in the sand for the ball. That my sister had found.
I wanted mum to watch too.

When we got back to the car I didn't help much as I had cut my toe on a shell and it hurt. It wasn't my fault I didn't have my beach shoes.

When we got home mum asked me to wash the saucepan so we could cook pasta. I know I should have washed it yesterday as it's my job but I was tired.
So I didn't do any washing up.
I hate it. I have to do everything.
Then she wanted me to wash dishes so we could eat too.

All she did was get pizza out of the fridge for my sister left over from yesterday.
And she moaned st having to put the bin bag in as I forgot on Thursday. And she moaned at having to pick the rubbish up that I spilled when I put the rubbish out.
She moans all the time .

Then she asked if I had any dirty clothes but as I was comfy on my bed I didn't take any.
So she got some washing in. Started the machine with our wetsuits in so they don't get ruined
Just a cold rinse.
Then she put them out and started washing clothes.
She moaned about doing all my washing up from 3 days. More moaning.

She didn't cook me any Dinner and didn't let me watch TV.

She is the moaning mum ever!
I only slammed the door once and my sister didn't cry.
She did leave my pot noodle by my door tho Grin

Oh dear. There are worse things than moaning you know. As for being comfy on your bed, that only happens AFTER you've done your jobs.

Is there another adult in the house or is your mum a single parent? It is quite hard being a single parent of two children. You say you are 12 what age is your sister? Are there any more children?
Maybe your mum is struggling to cope on her own or is under a lot of pressure if another adult is making demands on her time rather than supporting her with the children.
I am never sure about setting children housework tasks, it might be teaching them skills to use in later life or it is putting the adult work on to children. My children never do housework, they are so untidy but I cant get them to keep their rooms tidy.

LTM - she sounds not very motherly

So your one job is to do the dishes and you haven't done them for three days?

I'd be moaning too.

You have:

A roof over your head
Food
Clothes
Internet
Toys/electronics/tv

If your mum asks you to do something, it's not because she hates you or wants to make you do everything, she's asking you to help out because a) you are part of the family and b) at some point you will leave home and you need to know how to do these things.

You are nearly a teenager so I'd suggest if you want to start having a little bit of freedom and want to be treated a little bit more grown up then you should start behaving like a decent person.

And we went to the beach today, got home, had all the wetsuits and rash vests, beach shoes and swimsuits to sort, had to shove my youngest into the shower, feed the cats, empty the cool box and while me and my partner were doing all that, my teenager washed the dishes and tidied the kitchen. She fed herself tonight and my youngest had bbq at the beach because I was so tired when we got home the last thing I felt like doing was cooking.

I am sad for you that you are having to eat pot noodle. Pot noodle is awful. The cheap noodles you buy in a packet and cook in a saucepan with a small sachet of flavouring is much nicer. Tell your mum to make you that next time and then you will be more helpful around the house. Also, they are cheaper than pot noodle so you can save up and buy another pair of beach shoes.

I also have a 12 year old -

If you want clean clothes take them when asked

If you want dinner then wash a sauce pan

If you see mom struggle loading the car - then help

You are not a baby and your parents will no doubt be tying up after you paying for clubs taking you out waging and ironing your clothes and paying for phones and Internet - all for the bit of washing up!

Count your self lucky and start helping -

I love pot noodle. Nobody else eats them tho.
There is only 3 of us. Mum. Me and 3 year sister.

I said I would do wash up to earn my racing.
I no racing costs a lot of money.

Small packet noodles are yuck. And mum wouldn't share them as she like them.

And I had to wash a fork to eat it with

Your mum is very clever for liking cheap noodles. You should try them a few more times before you make your final decision. If you swap to cheap noodles from pot noodles you will have even more money for racing. Is it pigeon racing by the way? I bet that's lot of fun. Or camel racing perhaps? That sounds fun too.

You sound like an adult writing as they think a twelve year old would...

Clearly a reverse. No 12 year old would admit to these things, and probably wouldn't even recall not doing them. As another poster said, so patronising. Hmm

Do whatever your mum says and it will be fine.
Choose your pot noodle flavours carefully. Some are better than others; some need to go straight in the bin.
Ditto the packet noodles.

Pot noodle sandwiches? I feel queasy. You'll corrupt the girl. Op. Do not read the post about pot noodle sandwiches, just keep focusing on saving money for your pigeon racing.
