Surely no one on earth will pay that much for a piece of plastic tat however "rare". Are second hand shopkins really that valuable?

Its been around a while, probably just over a year at my DD's school.

Interestingly though it does seem to be more popular in certain areas of the country than in others. I do sell quite a lot (30+ orders a week sometimes) and it's quite noticeable when you're printing off all the address labels.

George, they just come in various shapes. Handbags, doughnuts, milk cartons, apples, ice creams, biscuits, shoes, boots etc

January yes I can imagine that's true, my experience is only really with Seasons 1 and 2 so far, I have some 3 and 4 but haven't listed them yet as the prices for the more common ones aren't that great so far (at least for the ones I have).

If there is no tag on a Limited Edition it's a fake.

This is everything that is wrong with the world summed up in one shitful piece of plastic with glitter on it.

My 5yo dd has recently started the shopkins thing and I think that it's the collectability of them that appeals. They are just little pieces of plastic with faces on them, but each of them has a name and with each purchase you get a list of other shopkins in the series which you can tick off as you collect them.
I thought that they were a load of rubbish at first, but she actually carries them proudly around with her wherever she goes and has played with them pretty much non-stop for 3 months. And it was one of the shopkins clips on youtube which finally inspired her (after 18 months of swimming lessons) to put her face in the water.

Just, what harm does it do? Kids love them. I have no idea why, but they do!

Check out CookieSwirlC, Toy Genie Surprises, Shannon and Paul and various other YouTube channels and you will see how it goes. The toy companies pay these people to unbox their products on camera and ooh and aah over them to make them seem irresistible to children. Doesn't take long for a craze to develop.

What the hell is shopkins?

Can you really sell season one Shopkins for decent money? DD has LOADS of the things and she definitely wouldn't miss them if I flogged them

I remember in the late 70s early 80s when I was small it was all Beautiful Sunday stationery and rubbers in the shape of lipsticks and biscuits. Children like to collect things. Nothing really changes.

Jinkx if you have some of the Ultra Rares some might go for £10. Unlikely to be more unless they are Limited Editions with the certificates.

They have been around a while, popular with girls, mostly between age 6-10, it's absurd to pay that price for what it is.
